2025/26 David Moyes

They paid up last summer for wages for a 50 mill player on loan that you wanted to build the team around

Bought a 25 mill attacking midfielder from Chelsea

Got close to the club record on a player from Southampton that they valued at 100 mill

Made Alcaraz permanent for 15 mill

Committed to the permanent signing of a young German box to box midfielder Rohl

Committed to 30 mill signing of a young French striker from a CL team

New contract for Branthwaite

New contracts offered for every player you wanted to keep

Strengthened again in January with wages for George

and you returned basically the same points as a manager who had to sell his players for profit to keep the club afloat during a points deduction.

I don’t think it’s the owners who need to show something next season David
Good post.

It's very self serving by Moyes considering how little he's used the players we bought last year.

Moyes/CEO didn't expect the ground to empty out like it did last week

They've been very pleased with themselves until they saw that.

It was a real wake up call about how 'happily dissatisfied' the fans are.

Apart from ambition by sacking Moyes this summer.

I wish people would stop pretending this was a lot of money - I think we had 12 players remaining in the squad, and the 12 included some right dross.

We need to start spending like a top 8 club, if finishing in the top 8 is an actual aim.
It was a net record for this club and even though it's not a lot compared to other clubs but because of the ffp requirements and our lack of commercial revenue throughout the years it's a lot for us so not to incorporate players that we bought is criminal. Did you want him to spend more money on players he wasn't going to use?

Unfortunately we compete against 19 other clubs, it’s really a straightforward point - we have to find a way to spend like a top 8 club if that’s where we consistently want to be.

When you’ve been selling to loan/buy on free for years, then a 100 mill net spend is relatively a lot of money. If it’s then wasted it is a big deal.

I wish people would stop pretending that spending 100 mill plus net on players most of whom we then didn’t use isn’t a big deal.

I agree we need to spend more, much more, but we also don’t need to waste what we are spending.

I think our net spend last season was definitely in the top 8, that reflects of course the ground we have to make up after 5 years of having the lowest net spend but I doubt the owners were happy to see 100 mill go out the door and an almost id ethical points return to last season and most of the new players sat on the bench for the whole season.

Moyes still took United further into the CL then any other manager then Ferguson.

Id think what is more damming is the fact that out of 72 possible chances at domestic trophies. Only 10 of them have been won by teams outside the "big 6" and 3 of those where when teams were spending money like it was water.

And 2 of those 3 were relegated because of reckless spending and has essentially destroyed the clubs.

But hey ho im sure that moyes fault too somehow in your mind

Do you support Everton or Moyes?

I don’t think I’ve ever said we spent the £100 million particularly well. In fact last summer was dreadful and I said it at the time.

Also think we should have played them more, not because we finish higher if we do, but we’d at least have had some answers for next season.

Next season will tell the tale.

If the match goers get more 'happliy dissatisfied' with Moyes, the type of football, results, Sundays and Monday night KOs poor after game transport...half the team being over 30s geriatric sicknotes
'The Whole Vibe of the Thing' they might ignore the spaces for so long after all they've been paid for
Until some bright spark adds up the food and merch money those empty seats are NOT spending
Then we'll see some action... maybe

It's absolutely damning. When you think Moyes was at United too and couldn't even emulate Erik ten Hag in the trophy stakes.

Moyes is basically a formula 1 driver who spends 20 years finishing every race just out of the points.

You would think the penny would have dropped when he won that Conference thing with West Ham and he would be emboldened and go for the cups from now on until he retired but he just reverts to his safety first defensive approach.

It a bit rich of Moyes gave the two cup ties away without a fight and literally crapped himself since the Chelsea game ,and says Everton shouldn't be mentioned in a relegation battle but mentions it every press conference that at least we are not in a relegation battle

This is a good point. So many were thinking of binning their season tickets, but at the last minute didnt. If its the same served up next year, and if Moyes stays, I believe it will be worse, many more fans will give up the big hike to HD and will pick and choose games
