2025/26 David Moyes

we did and we haven’t spent that amount since moshiri which was years ago

other clubs have had loads of windows on us were playing catch up

Matty we've spent £125m this season.

Barry £28m
Dewsbury Hall £24m
Dibling £35m
Aznou £8m
Travers £4m
Alcaraz £13m

If you want to include Röhl for £25m, as that's now triggered brings the total to £135m.

Add the loan fee for Grealish which was rumoured to be £10m and the George loan fee £3m

And we've spent a hell of a lot of money for 1pt more.

On the points matter. The distribution thats a lot more even this season. Look at points vs position this season vs last year youll see a difference. The amount of points differential to UCL and relegation differs. What I can guarantee is depending on your view of the manager youll see it positive or negative.

The transfer spend I think whatever you think - Bournemouth and Brighton have their replacements waiting and have been doing good recruitments for many years with plenty of fails. Sunderland too. However the level of success Sunderland have had in their first PL window is difficult to judge - without old man Xhaka they fall off the cliff.

Lets give Everton at least a 2nd window.

we have the worst strikers in the league

were missed sitters galore

last min goals bad refs

been poo at home

it’s not just one thing

it’s ALL

Edit:

We paid £28m for a centre forward, who the manager doesn't know how to use (lets not talk about his attitude).

We signed £60m worth of younger "talent", and they barely got a sniff.

Why aren't they players focused for 90+ mins? All comes down to the preparation.

My original argument was that we have spent money, a lot of money this season, and all we've done is do exactly what we've done the last two seasons, whilst others flourish and push on.

Only 2 players have been regulars and only one is an unqualified success. Everyone seems to hate Barry despite a few goals. He does look average, in truth.

Doesn't really inspire confidence for a forthcoming summer of recruitment.

Edit, sorry 3 if you include Grealish. Started well, but I felt he was less effective as the season went on. Injury is unlucky.

What annoys me most is that he said at the end of last season that Everton should be the team fighting for Europe very soon, which is brave after a couple seasons of relegation battle. It as one of the easiest seasons in total of points to reach so, but lately he‘s been saying it‘s been one of the pleasure to be around at all at this stage.

From a west ham forum. Could have been written here....

Im not arguing the success, or failures, because I agree.

More a case where we've spent a lot this summer just gone and seemingly we've just treaded water and not pushed in at all.

I think West Ham as a team going down, without Moyes to save them twice. And us who have been god awful since he left. We should at least accept hes a very good manager (3 x manager of the year) and its not at all easy to replace. Its possible but yeah its all about recruitment and manager fit which weve not shown we can do - well ever. But things are possible and cocking it up really is.

Over last 5 Years
Villa: -110mil
Bournemouth: -152mil
Brentford: -119
Palace: -234
Fulham -166

everyone else that matters > -300mil
Sorry you're telling me that Crystal Palace have spent £234 million more than they've brought in on players in the last 5 years? I find that very hard to believe
