. Regardless, the way the season has ended has kiboshed any hopes he might of had of being given a new contract now, so he is somewhat in no-mans-land.
There won't be a bigger job after this for him, and as always he deflects the criticism, basically saying 'what do you expect, we didn't sign anyone (other than
Tyrique) in January'. Then backs it up by saying that the players the club has bought aren't good enough to step in when his first choices are out of form'. Then throws it back to the Board by saying it needs a big summer but depends on the money.
I wish the journalists would have more guts and challenge him on his own responsibility for the decisions he makes (that seem baffling to most from the outside) and his apparent lack of ability in improving younger/squad players or giving them the confidence to be able to step up.
