2025/26 David Moyes

Oh he definitely gaslights, he always has. It's one of his biggest strengths as a manager in a way, he consistently makes it sound like it's impossible to do any better than he's doing and so you become convinced he's doing an incredible job when actually it's maybe not much more than par for the course. Saying 'there's no doubt there's been progression' when there's a very decent chance of us finishing lower in the table is textbook gaslighting.
Yeah, maybe that bit was questionable tbf

I just read that Moyes has a 32% win rate in his second spell.
Just about right for a percentage manager, win one lose one draw one
Get him gone we owe him nothing
Excuse me, it's a 32.7% win rate if you don't mind :D

XG mentioned by him , rubbish , it’s actual goals that count. Must be struggling if mentioning xG. Stats don’t mean any unless they’re goals and wins/draws.

It’s XGA - expected goals against we should be focussing on mate, defensively we’ve been so, so poor overall since the derby but particularly in the final quarter of games.

That’s been the undermining feature since March and it’s collapsed the season.

If Sean Dyche ever said, like Moyes did last summer, that no one wanted to sign for the club because basically we've been too crap for too long, then people would have turned up at Finch Farm wanting to break the gates down. And to boot he's going to be spending this summer sat off in Talksport's studio chatting crap about the World Cup.

Awful attitude and it should never be put up with. He needs us more than we need him that's the top and bottom of it.

Agreed let’s get back to basics, tackle, pass, shoot, score more than opposition

He’s not been in touch with Arteta to congratulate him yet as he knows what it’s like when you win the league to be inundated with calls?😵‍💫

Also found it interesting he was talking about finishing as high as poss for the extra league placement money…… I said a while back when TFG / the club started talking about how commercial revenue had increased, I wondered if the same would apply to him to increase prize money in line with fresh expectations.

When he came in he repeatedly told the journalists he didn’t want Everton to be mentioned in the same breath as relegation. Fast forwards 18 months and he seems to mention it every week as if it’s some sort of miracle we’ve not been in a battle this season. Shows how little he has to celebrate from this year.
That’s his whole act mate he’s

Could he be at the Dyche point were he thinks he has taking them as far as he can?

And with no new contract offer.

Sorry im living in hope here arent i?

I couldn't work out if he was downbeat or nonchalant... or the canteen had forgotten to put the sugar in his tea 😀. Regardless, the way the season has ended has kiboshed any hopes he might of had of being given a new contract now, so he is somewhat in no-mans-land.

There won't be a bigger job after this for him, and as always he deflects the criticism, basically saying 'what do you expect, we didn't sign anyone (other than Tyrique) in January'. Then backs it up by saying that the players the club has bought aren't good enough to step in when his first choices are out of form'. Then throws it back to the Board by saying it needs a big summer but depends on the money.

I wish the journalists would have more guts and challenge him on his own responsibility for the decisions he makes (that seem baffling to most from the outside) and his apparent lack of ability in improving younger/squad players or giving them the confidence to be able to step up.
