2025/26 David Moyes

He looked like he was adapting when he had a notable game against Villa then Gana returned and he vanished. I think the only reason he was utilized by Moyes was that he started to get irked with McNeil not adhering to his defensive duties and the fact he doesn't trust anyone else to provide defensive coverage on the wings

Agree with all that, I’d be critical of Moyes and bringing Idrissa straight back in to the side after returning from AFCON (was after Villa)., I wouldn’t have done it and Rohl deserved to keep his place.

What’s more bizarre IMO is dogging Idrissa every game in his mid 30s, when we had options on the bench.

Cant say I disagree with you. ;)

I think McNeill deserved to keep his shirt over a run after Grealish’s injury mate, he deserved to loose it to and Rohl came in - its actually a great example of meeting the standard.
He really didnt deserve to keep the shirt. Not sure where you are getting that tbh
Starting ahead of George(ndiaye RW), Dibling, Rohl, Armstrong doesnt make sense. Dibling hasn't done much so dont know but all the rest did better at RW.
Dibling must've pissed in Moyes' cornflakes

He strung, 2-3 god performances together IMO mate, then I think he offers defensive balance, then he was much again, I could see why he was in the team.

It’s fair in hindsight to question it, but you have to make a decision, I don’t think Rohl or Harrison are wingers, while Dibling - he obviously doesn’t think he’s ready.

We can all have opinions on what we should have done, when we loose etc, it’s opinion at thee d of the day.

Ive seen us win trophies mate. I dont accept the arguement to be honest. When we were winning titles we were able to compete with the richest clubs.

We cant anymore - football has changed and so has our place in the game as much a people don't want to hear or maybe believe it, we aren't going to appoint manager who is going to win us the PL in a season or even two. Thats not being unambitious or risk adverse - its an accurate assessment of what we need to plan for to get out of a decades dug hole.

Its going to take incremental progress, first achieving Europe to give a broad base to compete domestically.

Ambitition without a plan is just hope.

Sacking managers, since well Moyes has just seen us get progressively worse - what do people think will change this time. We;ve disimproved from every manager since Moyes and were awful before him. Maybe hes a good one, just a thouhjt.

Seems the plan is just - just appoint a better manager - we are the poster boy of that - not being that simple since he left the first time. People are just hoping we do it better next time mate.
What trophies have you seen us win 'mate'?

And what part of my 'argument' can't you accept?

I know full-well that we can't compete with the Sky6 clubs financially and if you think I expect us to be seriously challenging for the PL title within a couple of years then you must be in cloud-cuckoo land. 😄

I'd love to know why we can't aspire to Europe when Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace and even Forest can?

I don't want Moyes "sacked" per se, I want the club (& his fanboys) to acknowledge that he's taken us about as far as he can, thank him for his service and then move on to a manager who's more innovative, adventurous & ambitious.

Honestly, what is "the plan" under Moyes? Buy a load more ageing / injury-prone players with virtually no sell-on value, run older players into the ground, demoralise & denigrate younger players so that we won't be able to keep or attract them in the future, turn fans off with negative & predictable tactics, get pundits to pat us on the head for avoiding relegation?? I mean, does the prospect of next season actually excite you given how Moyes has had us performing this calendar year? #relegationform

True it is opinion, and we can disagree without consequence for the club
It's Moyes' opinions that are the problem 😆

I don’t accept accept just changing manager shows ambition mate. It’s proven not to be the case, the most successful we have been is when we have had a few years of building and stable environment. That’s what I’m advocating for. No manager has been here beyond 18 months since Boberto and the club has got progressively worse verging on a circus - what’s the answer - “change the manager aiagin”, no.

Whats proven be true is that we got progressively worse, every year since Moyes left the first time.

We can of course aspire to Europe, that’s my aspiration I was in the minority at the start of the season, who said I think we should be competing for Europe - we have been. The manager has raised expectations that’s why People are disappointed.

I think people are board of Moyes mate, they’ve had him for a decade before and when he goes on a bad run that familiarity breeds contempt.

What’s the plan? Why can’t he do what he did the first time here, I see no reason, why he can’t build another team here with wonderful players, get to the CL, compete for trophies - why not? I haven’t enjoyed not watching us play this year to be honest, I want passion and whenever I watch Everton I’m passionate, so yes I’m excited about watching us play next season, I’m looking forward to Spurs though.

It’s not really mentioned but the treatment of Patterson has been disgraceful this season tbh.

He’s started 3 games - a 2-0 win at Forest, a 1-0 win at Villa, and a 1-1 draw with Leeds.

I don’t care what the haters say, he did absolutely fine in those 3 games. He barely kicked a ball before or after, despite us desperately needing something different at right back.

Which is the main thing about whats the point in having a squad under Moyes.

Patto only got in because Branthwaite was still out and Keane was suspended.

The minute Branthwaite was fit, he lobbed him on at half time and played Patto as a wingback/right wing vs Leeds before subbing him off and never played him since.

The following weekend vs Brighton he played all 4 CBs.

The first time here looked good because we were in decline without a pot to urinate in.
And under Moyes we remained potless.
One season he got us into the CL qualifiers.
One FA cup final .
And we failed both times.
I didn’t want Martinez here , but in his first season his style of play was exhilarating compared to what we had witnessed under Moyes.
Martinez, while flawed , coached football closer to my heart than anything Moyes has produced before or since.
It can be done but Moyes isn’t the answer he’s a perpetual excuse for failure.

Dibling the player we signed is ready, Dibling the player Moyes wants to Mould him in to isn't ready.
