2025/26 David Moyes

Yesterday cemented his excuses in advance for the summer sadly. It'll be another year of "half the Premier League can offer Europe, we can't, so we need to be patient and find the right players that want to join us".

Completely ignoring the fact that he alone has cost us not only a realistic shot at the Champions League, or being hot favourites for taking one of the numerous Europa League places, or even the spot for the Conference League. He's been a disgrace.
We need more experienced players. A CB pairing that played for Burnley ten years ago just doesn't cut it.

We need even MORE experience.

Welcome Soucek and Stones.

Europe is a big draw for players no doubt but last summer we also had targets that simply just didn't want too play in a Moyesball team same as when players were knocking Dyche back. Crap football is not attractive to players.

I'll be honest. I'd have shaken his hand on a job well done the day we beat Leicester 4-0 in February 2025. He got us safe in a few weeks. There were no more worlds to conquer for the Moyesiah, 61.

Decency demanded we let him see the season out. But I'd have ruthlessly cut ties last May. Sadly, our competent professionals still hadn't their feet under the table. Any focus was clearly on Roma. We wasted another year and 120m.
<clears throat> THATS PEANUTS!

Putting the dire tactics to one side, his stubbornness to not play Patterson is horrendous. Tarks and Keane are awful, JoB is never a right back and despite conceding 2+0 goals every week, he picks the same players. This back 4 is relegation fodder.
Also, look at the signings last summer ....Dibling, Charlie, Barry and, Aznou. Either they have been rubbish or not given a real chance. This could happen again this year.

Can see Fulham getting a point next week to overtake us. A Leeds win at West Ham not too unlikely as well.

We ain’t beating spurs in a million years. He will pick the same players as yesterday playing the same formation and same tactics.

14th place finish after having a real chance at Europa league isn’t good. As big as a collapse that we had under Ancelotti in 20/21.

If he stays the club are just saying that they are happy with mediocrity.

Our decent performances home and away this season have been against teams who want to have possession and push us back so we can sit with our slow back 4 on the edge of our penalty area and just be hard to break down.
Whenever we’re at home, or against teams who sit back and let us have the ball, we’re lost for ideas. We didn’t even look like scoring yesterday. We scored a scrawny deflected goal and O’Brien should have scored a header. That was about it. Then Sunderland just pick us off on the break. Exactly the same as Newcastle, Spurs and Brentford did. And all Moyes can do is mutter about stability and how grateful we should be for our first season.
If it wasn’t for a couple of fortunate away wins we’d be well in the relegation mix.

Raise your hand if you reckon Moyesy’s gonna put out the exact same side, play the exact same way, and make the exact same bloody subs for the final game against Spurs... Anyone?

Ndiaye should've had one too.

Still angry about yesterday. Even more so when I really reflect on recent form. 5 games won in 2026 from 19 played including another early cup exit at home to yesterday's opponents. It is close to relegation form.

Worse still is the feedback from our manager and CEO. Absolutely no talk of raising the bar and, all of a sudden, we're probably not ready for Europe. This is despite the team we played yesterday having their first season back in the league and on the verge of Europe themselves now. The feedback now is mediocrity is fine. Stability was the answer. European football was easily within reach and we bottled it. A team haemorrhaging goals and the manager changed nothing to stop it.

We need a change. I want to go the match each week and watch us play good football.

We could quite easily finish 14th now. Surpassed by two promoted teams and the three teams directly below us have all been in semi-finals, or potentially won, European finals in the last 12 months. We, on the other hand, have had nothing positive to celebrate for many years.
