2025/26 David Moyes

Jesus wept.

Our league position is reflective of the quality of the squad IMO. If there is anything Moyes needs to answer for it’s the utter waste of money on Dibling, Aznou and Barry.

Many of the teams around us, or even below us, are full of players that would absolutely walk into our first team. Particularly at full back, CM, right wing and striker. Which is most of the team.

We still have a woefully undercooked squad IMO. The only way to attract an improvement on Moyes, or even contemplate replacing him, would be to hand a manager a massive war chest. I still don’t know if that is on the cards.

Totally agree. Them teams all have pace in key positions. We haven’t got any pace in the squad what so ever.

Majority of them players need binning, unfortunately, Moyes has walked into a mess with the squad. It would take him and anyone to get rid of the dead wood. In order to compete, like you said. You’d need a war chest of about £300m in this summer to completely transform this squad.

It’s where I feel sorry for Moyes cos having the likes of Keane, Mykolenko, Patterson, McNeil, Coleman and Beto still in the squad is hard. Obviously last summer a lot needed addressing and could only do so much with little to spend. £113m spent on just having a squad this season. People forgot that, but some fans think we’ve got a good squad. We’ve literally got about 7 good players.

There's another side to this so-called "stability" which I think we could easily become complacent about with Moyes.

Tarkowski with a new contract, no creative solutions at right back, with Branthwaite injured so much we could play a lot of next season with the same back four as today, which lets be honest, could easily be a relegation side's back four if tarkowski continues this current descent.

Mediocrity still needs to be added to and *actively maintained*. I seriously worry about the current manager relying on favourites and just letting everything carry on as normal, it won't be long until we're back down in the places we have all hated being in in recent times.

Rohl clearly given license to drift inside today, which makes sense given it’s closer to where he is confortable. But Jake, our 12foot 19 inch centre back being told to stay wide and be our most forward player on the right wing MAY be indicative of Moyes picking players for who they are rather than what they can contribute.

Madness really.

The thing with the Derby though mate is, the final 20 mins we literally just sat back and were happy with a point even though before that we had the RS under the cosh.
Also just sat back for almost 20 minutes in the first half after Ndiaye's goal ruled off then them scoring right after. You know what that is? Mentality. It comes from the manager.

The premier league aint about staying stagnant mate.

If a better manager is available, go and get them.
Staying stagnant can very quickly get worse too - especially with the players we have. If e.g. we sell NDiaye, keep the same back four as today - we could slip downwards. You've got to keep improving to stay where you are sometimes. This is why I don't buy the stability argument
