2025/26 David Moyes

Some very short memories on here, just saying..........
Can we just get used to not being in the relegation dogfight for 5 mins.
Move him Upstairs at the end of next season.
Do something totally Un-Everton, make a plan of succession so that they are involved in who we bring in / get rid of.
No flipping way, we'll end up with another dour manager and a dour bloke upstairs who's arse he'll have to kiss

It'll always be that fine a line though won't it? At all clubs at all times. It's a results business, we've got 2 points from our last 4 games and have dropped points by conceding injury time goals in all of our last 3 games, so people are a bit disgruntled. They would be less disgruntled if we had won them all. That this still perplexes some people is quite remarkable to be honest.
Think it's that many are more disgruntled by the manager than with players who've made glaring individual mistakes at both ends of the pitch.

Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Brentford, West Ham, Spurs, Wolves, Liverpool, Man City (home)
Leeds, Sunderland (away)

Some of the most wretched, uninspiring, insipid, 45 minutes displays that the team has put in over the last few seasons (including Dyche and Benitez) and all on Moyes’ watch THIS season, accumulating just 7 points from those fixtures.

He was a breath of fresh air last season, coming in and utilising the squad and getting the best out of what he had. We were dynamic, hard to beat and played with purpose when Moyes had a point to prove. We were exciting, we were brave, what happened? Now his feet are firmly under the table those tactics are in the bin, he’s just doing what he always has, polishing his favourite butter knife for his inevitable retirement tour around the speaking circuit where he will tell tales of “nearly”, “unlucky”, “if only”, “chairman Bill”, “be careful what you wish for” while parading pictures of the one meaningful trophy he’s ever won with West Ham, together with all his manager of the month trophies, swimmy badges and his favourite cycling proficiency test badge.

I’m amazed that he still thinks you can throw a whole half away by doing literally nothing but defending, we had made 14 passes after 14 minutes of the game last night, I haven’t checked how many of those were Pickford goal kicks either. Another home game where the setup is purely about containment, purely worrying about the opposition and when our players did get the ball they looked exactly like a team that hadn’t been told what to do when that situation arouse. Once again he had no idea what to do in a winning position against a manager he’s never beaten in 15 attempts before, filled his kecks and made some of the strangest substitutions I’ve seen from a winning position, even for him. It’s 2026, I think Evertonians have suffered enough from tactics that you don’t see outside of a non-league team coming up against the Champions league winners. Why do we keep employing these negative, risk-averse managers ffs?!

He cannot be trusted to spend any more transfer money, he only has a 4231 and squeezes players in out of position instead of working on other formations to suit them, he cannot be trusted to phase out older declining players (Phil Neville vs Wigan still haunts me to this day in another winnable cup fixture) he cannot be trusted to utilise an actual squad as he loves to run his favourites into the ground and he would be a meddling, spiteful boss hand-picking his mates and vetoing transfers if he “moves upstairs”.

The only positivity in Moyes’ life is on one side of his car battery. Clean break, preferably this summer.

Lets say we spend 200m in the summer and get 6 new players RB LB CM CB 2 x CF, where do i expect us to finish next season under this clown?

We will be exactly where we are now floating between 8-14th all season.

We will never ever win anything with him in charge, i dont care what players he has at his disposal.

A bad workman blames his tools.

A clueless workman laves his best tools in the box.

Can't believe we have people saying it's a good season because we're not in a relegation scrap.

We have players there to challenge for European places, and with the state of the league this season top 4.

He just chooses to ignore solid performances, and humiliate players by putting anyone else in their best position.

If he was my manager I'd have quit.

It’s love hate with Moyes for me. Tim only plays yesterday because Gana is injured. Tim puts in a great performance. Wonder how many other great performances could’ve been had by the likes of Tim, Rohl, Dibling, etc if only Moyes was more flexible and actually gave them real chances…not just when he’s forced to play them.
The big litmus test will be on Sunday when Gueye is back fit. Will Rohl be immediately dropped? Precedent this season would suggest yes.

There is that one could say but we also seemed to have been on the wrong side of quite a few Refereeing and VAR decisions.

Tbf mate you havent the brains to be anything else but a tedious bore.
Your posts are like Grok with a glitch.
Try putting your phone in a bag of rice overnight.

*Haven't

Im very grateful that I dont spend most of my time been a contrarian tedious bore on an Internet forum.
Imagine when your on your death bed and looking back at all the hours you spent been a wum .
What an utterly horrible existence.

I'd recommend, feeling that deeply negative about people on an internet forum, means you probably should step away and consider the impact of it all on your wellbeing mate. Its not that deep that you should harbour that level of impact & hate in your above posts.

Never understand how people can hold that level of hate and "enjoy" an internet forum.

But hey let weirdos - be weird.

Nothing about last night other than another dodgy ref was 'predictable'
It had all the signs of a 2-0 plucky defeat that had it happened would have had you and others rushing in here to say 'look, LOOK, Moyes setting us up for another plucky defeat which we got'

You might want him gone but try being honest in your assessment

My assessment is spot on: a manager all at sea at moments when coaching ability really counts.
