2025/26 David Moyes

Is there someone that we could get who you'd replace him with in the summer, Dave?

I'm not asking that in a way to imply that if you don't have an answer then shut up. I am just curious who people believe would be a good fit for us that we can get.

I've said a few times: Iraola or Glasner. Failing that I'd get Frank in here.

Some very short memories on here, just saying..........
Can we just get used to not being in the relegation dogfight for 5 mins.
Move him Upstairs at the end of next season.
Do something totally Un-Everton, make a plan of succession so that they are involved in who we bring in / get rid of.

I fear they’ll just give him another year so he’s got two seasons.

There’s potential in this squad if it was utilised correctly.

However the game ended last night though we could have been a few down in the first half because we looked like a school boy 11.

If an Everton team has a go at the opposition and gets outplayed then I can accept that

This brand of cowardly low to mid block shuffling nonsense, hope to nick a goal, and then when it actually works still find multiple ways to sicken the fanbase by throwing it away is just tiring.

It’s not a normal football experience for fans. No other team does this as regularly as often as predictably.

We could throw 400 mill at the squad in the summer and I’d still expect that we’d miss multiple sitters in big games, concede from almost every worldie against us, have some ridiculous refereeing decisions against us, and end the season just outside Europe, out early of both cups, and not having won a derby or at top grounds.

We need someone who can change the narrative, I fear Moyes will keep entrenching it.

I think you hit the nail on the head there mate with the 'predictable' shout.

It was always going to be a low block first half and hope we hung on to HT still in the game. In fact, he all but said so post match.

Us coming out a bit second half was predictable too.

And if it's predictable to us it will defo be to opponents.

He just has no variation; no gears to go through. He's not a thinker - and at this level we need a manager who can adapt and get the extra 10% that forces the opposition into making errors.

Just a duffer. He'll get them working hard, but so what?

I've got a feeling that Iraola and Glasner will have better options than us, but I too would be very happy with either of them.

Frank is an interesting one because he was who I wanted us to get before we re-hired Moyes. But his time at Spurs makes me ask 2 questions, (1) can he handle being at a club with expectations? and (2) was everything at Brentford just set up nicely for him? And can he have the same impact without that kind of club structure around him?

Wouldn't touch the Danish Moyes with a bargepole

He will be here next season, he’s stabilised us and with the league being so one dimensional and poor, he’s got us still (somehow!) in the conversation for a European place, which if we are being honest with ourselves you would have ripped your arm off for.

However, he will be in control of the summer spending, which is a little concerning to me, as I Still don’t understand his use of the squad and the signings we made last summer, and the lack of minutes even off the bench for some of the signings just doesn’t compute.

If we could somehow manage qualification for European football this season it will have been a great season, and all in, even without Europe, it will have been decent considering the mess we have been in for the last few years, but with some frustrating performances and results thrown in.

Finish the season strong Toffees, and let’s see where we end up.
I just need him to come out and officially say "We will be signing Fb's this summer (actual Fb's)"

I've seen quite a few people advocating this. Personally I think it is a terrible idea. Too many cooks spoil the broth and all of that but I am genuinely interested to know what people think the benefits of this would be?

You keep overlooking my point about a realistic target. The same as players, managers are drawn to the chance of European football. We don't offer that so the fantasy football names being bandied about just aren't going to come.
Wait, why aren't we getting European football? So close to "getting it".

And yet there is a queue lining up to extend the manager and celebrate not being in the relegation battle.

Nobody will tell me that masochism is not rife among Evertonians. Stockholm Syndrome in action.

Agreed - it’s a gap that’s been on our squad for way too long, but we had other way we could have set up.

Aznou should have see more minutes at lb imo, as should Patterson at rb, so JOB could move to cb.

That said, I was amazed we didn’t get a rb in last summer
