2025/26 David Moyes

It is.

Media were proactively briefed on how they had no choice.

TFG could have simply just sacked him.

But no, poor TFG were blindsided. They had no choice.
They didn’t want to sack him, they wanted him to see out the season. Yes their hand was forced.
But the fact is they didn’t want to sack him in
January, we’re happy to let him go in the summer and start a fresh
And they didn’t want Moyes

Still chuckling at the fact that people actually believe that replacing around 10 players who left by spending 100m on 8 players means we should automatically be doing better.

It simply doesn’t work that way.

Thats another point entirely though. I agree with that.

I said they were worried about fan opinion on sacking Dyche. You said it wasn't true. They absolutely were.

Its no point being 5th in November or being in the hunt for Europe if ultimately come 14th is it??!?!

Maybe release another video ‘the hunt for Europe’ disclaimer we came 14th
That’s my point.
Beginning of the season the expectation was better than Dyche.
As things progressed opportunities opened up.

Unfortunately Lord Choke-a-lot didn’t disappoint

But we still have a very decent starting eleven that's been consistent bar KDH for over a season and should be beating West Ham.

Done a decent job in seeing us to safety comfortably last year and getting us to pushing to Europe (until the last 3 games) but his inability to change the set up when it’s not working and make positive subs is pretty damaging.

His results against the bottom 4 are appalling. From a possible 21 points against the bottom 4, we only have 10.

I’m not for sacking him to bring in a flavour of month like Iraola, but the last 3 games have been a huge let down.

Wouldn’t surprise me if TFG do look to move him on even if we had a top half finish and came 10th.

Yea I do find that argument crazy. We didnt spend a lot at all.
None of that mattered today
We were awful against an awful team
I dont know if getting rid of Moyes or not is the best decision, but all roads lead to Mcneil for me... Moyes insisting on playing him and not hooking him at HT today points to something being broken in him it's that bad

For the most part we've been top 10 for the majority of the season. Currently still 3 points from 6th.

But the reason we probably wont get europe is down to the main issues that have been there for a while. Goals and spending £70mill on 2 duds.

All the other teams have 1 or more on 10+ goals a season and we barely register there. If we did get Europe itd be a job Moyes would be praised for due to the limitations. Not getting it is expected.

So many people on here really need to give their heads a shake.

We are off the back of some of our worst ever years, carrying the worst managers we’ve ever had and a conveyer belt of atrocious players on astronomical wages. We have had one summer transfer window to fix all this and that was a false start.

All season we have been wildly inconsistent and we have never really looked like a team capable of Europe, apart from a few fleeting moments.

The last two games have been massively disappointing and have most likely ended any idea of Europe now (city up next). Hopefully we can finish top half and I would view not as a bit of a failure. But not a hanging offence.

We need a proper summer transfer window this season as the squad is still largely bottom half material. There can be no valid excuse not to get the fullbacks we need and a decent striker. Them and few other pieces then if Moyes is still labouring then criticism of him deserves to stick. At the moment this squad is only marginally better than the past few years.

Yes, we need to stick with Moyes who is our most successful manager in the last 30 years.

It wouldn't be Everton if they didn't give you a little sniff of something good after years of despair and then epically fail. The one thing Everton are definitely good at is findings ways to fail.

It is still my opinion that the only way Moyes should gets his contract renewed is if we qualify for Europe and the opportunities have been there. That performance today was shocking and i knew it would be as soon as i seen McNeil and Barry starting even though they were both terrible in the Derby. Just does the same thing over and over this fella. Never learns and never tries anything new. I would have even put Dibling or George up front instead of Barry after his poor attitude and effort in the Derby.

Targets can change with circumstances.
3 weeks ago it was all 2 points off 5th and talk outside change of CL.
5 weeks ago it was talk of # points off UEFA cup, 7 weeks ago we were a shoe in for the European League of Nearlymen that you only have to finish in the top ½ for.

Now we’re 11th and comparing this season to Dyches with the points deduction.
It’s a results game after all.
