Hodgson stopped Palace from getting relegated. And what he did at Fulham was marvelous. He was similarly excellent at West Brom.

In fact, Hodgson is a Palace fan and had a huge had in getting them where they are.

In fact, Palace fans say:

“Hodgson was the man who could be trusted to keep Palace in the top flight while having minimal resources, which has allowed the club to build a sustainable model that exists now.”

Palace fans were pulling their hair out because of the dour dull as dish water football. They didn’t want him back and 90% couldn’t wait to see the back of him. Did well a few small club failed at bigger clubs and England. Very similar to Moyes

At any level of football, there's nothing more demoralising for players than seeing someone stink the gaff out and still getting picked.

Not McNeil's fault he's getting picked. But if any young player gave that ball last week, we'd never see them again.

Experienced players can make mistakes, young players can't.

That's not a good culture.

Everton is like any other football club. It needs to be built back up and needs some stability. That’s what Moyes can provide.

People need to show a bit of patience. That was something like the second away defeat in a year.

No football club had a divine right to anything.

Yes.

Another season of playing negative football and whimpering out of the cup competitions.

OH DAVEY MOYES

Targets can change with circumstances.
3 weeks ago it was all 2 points off 5th and talk outside change of CL.
5 weeks ago it was talk of # points off UEFA cup, 7 weeks ago we were a shoe in for the European League of Nearlymen that you only have to finish in the top ½ for.

Now we’re 11th and comparing this season to Dyches with the points deduction.

For me there are only two options.

My preference, get rid. The cup performances were shocking and passing up the opportunity to take advantage of Spurs, Newcastle and latterly Chelsea imploding in the league presented a once in a decade opportunity to get Europe.

The other option is give him the extension. If you don't view this season as a failure, if you see progress and belive he's taking the club forward, then go and let him do it.

What we cannot and absolutely unequivocally do is give him the 12 months. Are you going to let a guy who is gone in 12 months spend money on players we're stuck with for the next 4 or 5 and that's supposing anyone wants to sign for a guy with no shelf life.

If it was happening to any other club, it'd be an interesting time ahead.

Said many a time I wouldnt be unhappy with parting ways at end of season for someone to take us to the next level and it still feels the best thing for our club. He's done great for the last 18 months but we won't win trophies with him.

You genuinely need to change your username if you want anything you say in this thread to be taken seriously.

Its no point being 5th in November or being in the hunt for Europe if ultimately come 14th is it??!?!

Maybe release another video ‘the hunt for Europe’ disclaimer we came 14th

So many people on here really need to give their heads a shake.

We are off the back of some of our worst ever years, carrying the worst managers we’ve ever had and a conveyer belt of atrocious players on astronomical wages. We have had one summer transfer window to fix all this and that was a false start.

All season we have been wildly inconsistent and we have never really looked like a team capable of Europe, apart from a few fleeting moments.

The last two games have been massively disappointing and have most likely ended any idea of Europe now (city up next). Hopefully we can finish top half and I would view not as a bit of a failure. But not a hanging offence.

We need a proper summer transfer window this season as the squad is still largely bottom half material. There can be no valid excuse not to get the fullbacks we need and a decent striker. Them and few other pieces then if Moyes is still labouring then criticism of him deserves to stick. At the moment this squad is only marginally better than the past few years.
