2025/26 David Moyes

Oh behave Dave ffs, we lost to a goal in the 101st minute, you’re acting like we got hammered 4/5-0

Go and take look at the type of teams who've pummelled Liverpool this season.

The common denominator is Moyes.

He's handed us derby day nightmares for the vast majority of them over 12 years.

Least we enjoyed a Derby win. Although you probably didn’t did you you agenda ridden bore.

This is why they laugh at us btw, treating the derby like our cup final. We also lost to teams like Luton and Southampton and were told that 16th was the glass ceiling that we couldn’t possibly hope to breach. But hey we won a derby so who cares. Embarrassing tin pot carry on.

When Beto gets a head injury and has to come off, it's very difficult as a manager to do anything other than go like for like. We needed a good centre forward on the pitch to help us be competitive in the match. I dont think any of the other players on the bench would have given that either

The problem goes back to repeatedly digning rubbish attacking players over many many summers.
I beg to differ. We were set up with Beto who can do what he does - bully their defenders and has got better at holding up the ball. So the team is set up that way. Barry can't offer that, so changing Barry for Beto was stupid. We were flagging in midfield and their defenders were rattled because Beto had been bullying them and Dewsbury Hall and Ndiaye were taking them on. Moyes should have changed the system to get the midfield shored up as Gueye and Garner were flagging.

Pickford

O'Brien Tarkowski Branthwaite (until he got injured) Mykolenko

Rohl Garner Iroegbunam Dewsbury Hall

Ndiaye George.

Let George and Ndiaye go looking for the ball, turn and drive at their defence. All we did was allow them to disrupt and control the game because our energy levels dropped. By shoring up midfield maybe the shot, that led to the corner, that led to their goal, wouldn't have happened as it may have been closed down quicker.

Your head went clean off today... "No enjoyment from this club"

Talk about a massive overreaction to conceding late
If you're not absolutely raging at losing to them like that, then you're clearly more a fan of Moyes than you are a fan of Everton tbh.

'Massive overreaction to conceding late' his record against Liverpool is literally the worst of any manager against any one team in the PL ffs.

Maybe my expectations are low but overall we've done well this season.

It's nice not to be biting your nails going into last few games.

But every time we've had the chance to make a real move into European places, we've bottled it.

3pts from 24 v West Ham, Leeds, RS, Newcastle, Brentford, Bournemouth, Wolves, Spurs.

That's on the manager imo.

Hold on...where is the joy in winning nothing and failing in derby games?

I can only think you've never seen Everton win stuff. I have. Loads. And I can tell you that this now is joyless.

You loved being 17th last season though didn’t you. Went around telling people they were stupid and dangerous for expecting any better, didn’t you? Acting like the standard bearer now, don’t make me laugh.

They’ve had one major (and by major I mean a 4/5/6 goal one) pumping, by City a couple of weeks ago

Would you bet on us going to their stadium and winning? I wouldn’t.

Not a chance.

We had our big chance today:

Home ground never seen a derby defeat
Fans absolutely banging and up for it
Liverpool team beaten by all kinds of tripe teams

THAT was it. And we blew it like the bunch of 'kin duffers we are - and that has a lot to do with Moyes today...as it always is when he's stinking up the dugout in a derby.
