2025/26 David Moyes

I put him in the same bracket as Mustafi, Dier and that lot. Not really an academy player, but one we let go a bit too soon.

All in all there's not really a track record of Everton letting youngsters walk out the door. Most of them walk out the door because they're never gonna be prem quality ;)
Can I ask why you don't class somebody who was at the club from 11-21 as an academy player? Did you assume that because he ended up playing for the US (because his dad moved there after he was born and qualified for citizenship) we must have brought him over from there when he was 18?

Do you magically spawn defensive skills when you wake up on the morning of your 25th birthday or something?
if you are losing 1 nil and are making subs to try and get it back does it then matter if you lose 2 nil and take a gamble didnt he throw Keane up front with 2 minutes to go at home recently when we were losing

If we’re spending £100m on Norwich standard players then I am very very concerned for the future of the football club.

Twas slightly tongue in cheek, partly due to the fact that the poster I was replying to has at least a ten year history of demanding every youngster who gets anywhere near the bench be given minutes, only for most of them to end up drifting off in to lower league obscurity.

I think Rohl is a squad player who will probably end up moving on if we can improve year on year. Aznou and Dibling have ability, but clearly need to work on certain things, so could go either way. Alcaraz is in the Rohl bracket, and George is a loan who's probably gonna have to do more if he wants to make it permanent.

Just a load of old waffle And what ifs . The league leaders threw on a 16yr old. Liverpool constantly using a 17yr old.

Like you said yourself he doesn’t trust them defensively even at 1-0 down with 6 minutes to go and we conceded another goal anyway.
It’s why Moyes will never take a team that extra yard. To negative and it grips him like a vice.
Have we got the worst squad in the premier league???
Because we use the least subs
Yes they can afford to weaken one position when they have quality across the pitch.

We don't. Comparing us to Liverpool and Arsenal isn't serious.

Down 1-0 6 minutes to go away to the league leaders isn't the time to be throwing in kids.

No but you usually have to prove to the manager you know how to defend in this league before he will trust you in a situation when we aren't clearly ahead.

Obviously he isn't seeing it from these young players yet.

It's not like substituting a young player on only brings positives, they do make mistakes from inexperience and if we are chasing games they're more likely to harm than help us.

Yeah, basically. I thought we'd brought him over when he was about 16. No idea why

As do senior players who are past it and not quite up to the job on a regular basis anymore, Tarkowski this season has 6 direct errors leading to goals and we all know what Keane can be like.
