2025/26 David Moyes

On the mend - after the over drugging of the endoscopy double dose merchant boy I was in pain - a clown ..... wanted an early dinner he did me harm had six in the past no problem - them he decided to do that - reported him ...
You reported him 😲
What about the middle finger ?

It was more me just poking fun at the section of our support that labelled the draw to wolves a cardinal sin that no manager should ever have the indignity to subject the fans to.

Then again, the same posters have lost their heads that we didn't beat the league leaders away.
Similarly, despite it being a travesty that we couldn't beat Wolves at home many were hoping for Wolves to get something at Brentford. Notwithstanding the fact that Wolves beat the RS.

Exactly what I stated all teams are beating each other in the top six downwards - we are 8th lose the next 3 games [hard games & we will be sitting below mid table maybe ?

Look at their bench compared to ours - not that ours is not improved - teams make substitutes & DM does not counteract who they fetch on - his first substitute is Barry for Beto around 70 minutes nailed on !
Right, so you're missing the point Joey.

You said playing 2 x CBs at full back is a negative thing from Moyes.

I then said Arsenal, who are top of the league, line up with 2 x CBs at full back every week as well.

You then ignored that in your reply

So is it only dinosaur managers who line up with CBs at full back or not?

I think the biggest/ only disappointment with Moyes is realising how little he's changed.

He was always a safe bet ( unless you're Sunderland ), struggles to break teams down tactically and with subs.

I get all that and think the only area he's really discredited himself was the summer business.

- KDH, great.
- Dibling, Adam, and Rohl scarcely getting a look in when Europe on offer.. VERY BAD
- Jack, HM, failed gamble, a tad unlucky.

Someone posted we're 1.69 points in the league with Jack, 1.2 odd without. So you can say to lose him to injury was unlucky. I think it's too close to putting all your eggs in one basket when full backs might've made the same impact, and better prepared us for the future.

But, in Moyes favour... 12m a season for another 8-9 points ( if Jack had played since Jan which he won't ), might have nicked Europe.

It's still possible. I hope for EFC we do it. And Moyes will earn all the praise that comes his way.
Whats the 12 million a season bit ?

Win the next three and we will be sitting in a European place.

Works both ways this game.
Exactly - all ifs & buts .... if our home form had been half decent we would be up there now ....
I found Royle frustrating and his style of football wasn't great. It's easy to romanticise about his tenure as he won us our last trophy and was unbeaten in Merseyside derbies but like Moyes he had a ceiling as evidenced by his lack of managing other clubs to trophies and not even getting offered jobs by top flight clubs when he left us. Also he spent decent amounts of money in his early tenure and failed to move us forward. Then you have the many cup debacles he was involved in losing to some truly lower league muck even in the days of 2 legged League Cup ties
He was one place off Europe & signed a great fast winger - he resigned sadly because Agent Johnson would not let him sign Andre Flo & he turned out to be brilliant at CF ... - Joe Royle's football was far & always will be better than the whole of DMs tenure as he won us our last known silverware in 1985 ...

Yes they got named the Dogs of war - but far more effective & easier on the eye than our side now imo ....

As much as Arsenal are winning the league, surely in this context it should be acknowledged that they've done so by becoming the greatest set piece team of all time.

Which is an achievement, but also is a response to the fact that they can't score from open play. And as any Everton fan will tell you, there's a good chance that not having proper fullbacks is a big contributing factor as to why they can't score from open play.

They will win the league all the same but I really think that in the future this season will be remembered as an outlier and a weird season of soul searching and half baked tactical reinventions of various managers and teams. In other words, the future of successful football tactics will not be playing a back four of all centre backs, imo. Things will swing back the other way.

Mate he had us near the relegation zone before he left as the season went completely pear shaped after a promising start. Sure Flo was disappointing that he didn't join but it was partly because of Royle because he wanted to bring back Barry Horne which got vetoed correctly by the board and Royle then felt he'd lost their support.

Take your rose tinted specs away mate ....
