2025/26 David Moyes

A mod just PMd me and said they’re tracking the accounts of those who were megamouth on here after Everton defeats but are viewing this thread silently now. They said they’re planning something to mark their cowardice but I just find it all a laugh really.
Believe it or not I've got 14 names whittled down in my little black book.

Their cluelessness will be exposed at the optimum moment for maximum affect.

David Moyes, saviour of Everton...

We finally win a home game against a dire Burnley side & all of a sudden he’s Ancelotti.

Yes, he’s better than Sean Dyche. Is that the bar we set now?

2-0 up against the poorest side to visit this season, one long range shot & he still doesn’t use his squad. Beto, Ndiaye, Gueye & McNeil had ran themselves into the ground. That’s when injuries happen. He’s got Harrison, George, Dibling, Rohl on the bench.

He’s come in for a 2nd time & given us some stability, but I hope our owners have higher aspirations.

This is an example of some of the ridiculousness you see on this forum. Who is saying he’s Ancelotti because we beat Burnley? Why does everything have to be so polarised on every issue? We just comfortably beaten a team we expected to comfortably beat, that’s it. Why does this need to be microanalysed?

We were discussing before the game, and agreed that he had to go with an unchanged team from the weekend. Glad he didn't change anything as he has done previously....

McNeil has stepped up after the faith put in him by the manager.

Very glad also that he didn't end up going Branthwaite LB which I was half expecting him to do.

Even though changes albeit still very late were the right ones. Would have liked to see George much earlier as we had every opportunity to get at them and he would have caused them many problems. Not sure he even got a touch by the time he came on!

Anyhow.... congrats on finally putting 2 good performances and results back to back!

Good, deserved win, but watching from the North end, you could see certain players totally gassed out, N'diaye, McNeil for starters, would have loved two young fresh wingers, Dibling and George to have had at least 15 minutes last night, Burnley were offering nothing and I thought it was the ideal time to give them a go against let's face it a poor Burnley team, who with respect were probably the worst team to come here all season. Still grateful for the win and we all agreed keeping the same team, before the match was the correct decision by Moysey. The difference a fit Branthwaite makes at the back is amazing, absolute Rolls Royce of a defender.

What a bizarre post, for a few reasons in particular
1. I don't think anyone's said Moyes is Ancelotti or compared him to the great managers off the back of this performance. We're just happy with a rare win at home and a decent league position.
2. You say "given us some stability" like it's a small thing. We've been flirting with relegation for years now, under Dyche, Lampard, Benitez etc.. It's huge that he's stabilized things and got the team getting results, without spending a ton of money
3. I'm sure you're more of an expert on football injuries than Moyes, but we were only 2-0 up and don't play another game for 10 days. I think it's fine that he didn't make wholesale changes. What a weird thing to have a go at him for!
