2025/26 David Moyes

Correct. Add poor positional sense too.
It's a shame because he loves a tackle and can burst forward with the ball , sadly he doesn't then have a clue what to do next.

This is the issue. I thought Moyes got the team selection pretty much correct. Mykolenko at home when not protected is not the same mykolenko in away games. Garner is a very good midfelder but people going on like he took a prime Gascoigne out of the middle. What done for Everton is what does for Everton a lot, that bit of quality to unlock teams. Dewsbury hall had one of those nights but was still the player if anything was gona happen it would have been him.

We've added a bit but the issue hasnt much changed. We need fullbcks and a much better centre forward. The rest we can tinker around with as its not disastrous.

Because as has been pointed out to you numerous times, the same things have happened in games where he's been in midfield. What you're saying would have some merit if we consistently kept clean sheets and dominated the midfield every time he played in midfield but...we don't. We haven't won a home game for 3 months, nor have we kept a clean sheet. In most of those games Garner has been in midfield, so the evidence doesn't support the idea that we would have automatically kept a clean sheet just because he was in this game.
Yeah I get your point mate, I do go well over the top on this subject.

We just see different things..

At the end of the day, we're just continuing the trend of moving a player out of position.
Though now, we are the one's instigating for this move.

But the other logic is you can’t discard all the young players you’ve bought and end up worse. Play all the youngsters the club have bought and have a plan of how to play moving forward. What’s the plan with Moyes ?? The set pieces the other day were a disgrace, he’s a dinasour full stop

I don't know what his plan is with these specific players. We don't know what he and the coaching staff are telling them on a daily basis. We know that this is not an absolutist always/never situation.

He has played youngsters, in this spell and in his first spell. It may be not enough to some people's liking. But, what we do know is that people will use hypothetical's to slam him. If he had played them and the results were the same, it would have been 'Why is he playing these youngsters,? Why not go for more experienced heads? Why is Gana not getting games?'.

The fact is we don't know what exactly would have been different if Dibling had come on more, or started more when Ndiaye was away and now when Grealish is injured. I would say that George, in that one cameo agaisnst Utd showed more than he has so far. Aznou, I don't know, I have never seen him play, so have no idea on whether he might be good enough or not. I think at times Mykoloenko has been good for us this season, so it is hard to judge whether we would have conceded less/more or scored more/less with Aznou in the side more. I will agree, from what I saw in the Villa game, Rohl should have had some game time since then, I don't understand that one. I also think it is time to drop Tarkowski and see what O'Brien and Branthwaite will do, but am willing to stay a little bit more patient on that one.

I am pretty sure if he was playing youngsters a lot more and we had this same season there would be much less of the on the fence crowd turned against him right now

I'd still want a change of manager, but would certainly be enjoying the season more

I think we will just have to Agree to disagree on this one mate, I would love Scott at us, he's quality.

But I don't see another level on Tim.
I don't think there is any more room in his locker.
Tim is an athlete, I don't see football intelligence..
I see since Charly hasn't played regularly for awhile you've found a new player to intensely scrutinize, I'm glad you have a renewed purpose now

Fair enough, there is always context to be applied to these discussions. I would be (and I am) on the other side of the fence. I don't see Moyes as a long term thing, but feel that any manager transition might just need another year, at least of relative stability/improvement.

However, my point was really aimed at the staunch nothing will please them because they don't like Moyes type fans.

I don't disagree with your general point, it just feeds into this thing we see a lot, where people decide on a narrative and then make everything they see fit that. This season the key ones for me have been that Tarkowski plays poorly because Keane is next to him and that Gana is the one that causes all the problems in midfield. Both things get said a lot but just ignore the fact that there have been good performances with these set ups, and the fact that there have been bad performances with other set ups. It's not that there's no merit at all in what's being said, it's just clearly nowhere near as black and white as often gets made out.

When has Myko been good??! What’s he got 1 assist all season he’worst attacking left back in the league. And he’s been dropped for a 6ft. 5 CB, Aznou has had 10 minutes a made a difference, why wasn’t he given minutes v Leeds when we switch to wing backs , but defensive cautious Moyes kept Myko at wing back, smack of i have no interest of winning this game , like when Bournemouth scored he made the same defensive sub

Well he was quite happy to
Play McNeil out of position on the right for about 6 games over Dibling even though he stunk the gaff out every game and then was happy to sell him to palace even v Utd his first sub it to take the youngest player off in Armstrong even thought Tim and gana were shocking in midfield, stats tell you gana has dropped off 50% this season yet moyes plays him every minute of every game.

Also I think Ndiaye has been poor this year, he’s much better off the left, so why is this dinasour still playing him off the right , even though Grealish is injured
