2025/26 David Moyes

Its hard to comment on some because of so little game time. Iroegbunam is very inconsistent.
Iraola at Everton with this current squad would be interesting to say the least.
Evertons recruitment needs looking at. I dont think for one second a club like bournemouth go out and buy thierno barry for example. He wouldnt suit their slick quick passing style.
Iraola is just an example. Nobody knows if he's even on our radar. The point is a new manager with a new tactical system means the players who are struggling at the moment get a new lease of life and are players who do things we thought they couldn't. This is what management is about

We all agree on that, but the FBs hardly crossing the hallway line is an instruction not ability, not asking them to overlap to create space for Grealish Ndayie or whoever is again an instruction from the manager. Its always safety first and lets see if the low sock boys can do something special.

When they don't we are buggered.

Mykolenko is as average as you can get. No amount on instruction is going to improve that.
As for the other side. Its either a centre half. A right back who was here under phil jagielka and sylvian distin. Or patterson.
Basically rubbish options

Moyes wants physical defensive minded full backs so if he stays the same tactical flaws will persist
Not really. Just look at how he used Baines. Cresswell was the most productive fullback in Europe at West Ham under Moyes, and is definitely not a defence-first fullback.

Once again, it comes back to recruitment. Not just recruitment, but being able to attract players who will make a difference. Anyone can go out and splash money around on players.

Do you enjoy Moyes style of football? You seem unable to answer this. Are you a politician by trade?
It’s needs must. I certainly didn’t enjoy last night, but I could see what the game plan was. When we had Grealish earlier in the season we could be good to watch.

At the end of the day, again, it comes down to who you can put in the pitch. Apparently Alcaraz was meant to play last night but got injured before the game.

I’m not aware of another premier league manager who has played 4 centre backs in their starting 11 this season. So any new manager will hopefully put an end to this bin fire of an approach of playing all our best players out of position.

If these players are told to be in certain areas in certain phases of possession and then balls up the cross or kick it out of play then that's on the quality of player, but if they are not even there to at least try and create something then that's on the manager.

We all agree we need FBs but getting new FBs with this same manager won't change much if its caution first.

Honestly of all the Everton-related hills I could die on, the “Tarks and Gueye have been enormous liabilities all season and should be dropped immediately” one is probably my pick of the bunch.

I’m under no illusions it’ll happen, like.
Drop Tarkowski for who? A guy who was injured? People moan about Keane yet he’s been the best defender this season.
