2025/26 David Moyes

Absolute garbage. This squad wouldnt suit Iraola. Last nights goal was a classic example why Everton cant leave that sort of grass for opposition players to expose the lack of pace we have at the back. The two central midfield players last night are not Iraola type midfielders who travel with the ball. Dewsbury hall is possibly the only player who fits that bill.
Clubs like bournemouth employ managers to suit their recruitment so that when iraola moves on they havent got to completely change the set up. Its already in place. Same as why thomas frank struggled at spurs and Andrews hasnt at Brentford.
You're off your head if you think iraola suits the likes of tarkowski and keane.

I heard all of this claptrap when people we're saying 'how are we going to replace Moyes?' first time round. Apparently that team were too immobile...and then a few months later under a better manager they're swapping positions and playing between lines and finding feet with passes.

Iraola would for sure adapt this team of ours: a team that has a lot of natural talent in it.

If we had Branthwaite and O'Brien with pacey full backs which Iraola would buy then that goal doesn't happen so I fail to see your point

Well firstly go and get the pacey fullbacks. Thats a start.
Secondly replace the two midfielders who cant travel with the ball and struggle to do basic passing. Thats almost half a team already.
Its the set up. Bournemouth just lost one of their best players in semenyo and it hasnt bothered them at all as they'd already recruited Rayan.
They would have done that with or without iraola.

It’s one thing playing a certain way when you have Harrison Lindstrom Doucoure McNeil Beto to choose from.

It’s another when you have Grealish KDH Ndiaye Dibling George Alcaraz Rohl and have spent 30 mill on Barry upfront.

There’s absolutely zero reason to be playing Armstrong, a player we deemed only good enough to go on loan at the start of this season, out of position ahead of a 30 mill summer signing and your January signing who you brought in to cover that position specifically. Zero need, just completely stubborn stupidity.

He cant handle this situation.

Moyes would prefer us to go back to having no options - it confuses him otherwise.

He looks like a man who's out of his era to me. A bit like Hodgson toward the end.

We wouldn't be playing Tarkowski and Keane at the back if it wasn't for Moyes though?

Iraola (and most other managers) would most likely be playing Branthwaite and O'Brien as the cb pairing. Or at least Branthwaite and Tarkowski.

Iroegbunam can travel with the ball as can Alcaraz. Iraola would get a tune out of the players that Moyes hasn't just as Moyes got a tune out of O'Brien and Garner that Dyche didn't. Plus the fringe players like Aznou, Dibling, Rohl etc maybe Iraola gets a better tune out of them? That's what managers do they have a vision and players who seem unable all of a sudden are able to play a way that you didn't think they could because another managers tactics didn't suit them

Out for me......in the summer with a warm handshake and thanks for coming in and achieving his remit, however the last few home games, even last night have enforced in me why a change is needed,he has pretty much a full squad to select but he sets us up like that?players out of position, players bombed out all too easily, late substitutions, players in the side who appear "undroppable",also last night some of the stuff going on in the penalty area was almost peak Dyche🙄👍

It goes deeper than that. They were just an example of the squad he'd walk into.
Its ridiculous to suggest its a great squad. I'd struggle to think of another club who recruits beto and barry as their strike force.
We're a mid table squad at best. Dewsbury hall signing was going in the right direction.

Sorry, but Tim just isn’t good enough.
