2025/26 David Moyes

I’ve been very much a Moyes defender.

I can’t any more, it’s terrible football, it’s terrible team selections, it’s terrible in game management and substitutes.

There doesn’t appear to be any game plan. He shoe horns players in (Keane & Gana). We clearly don’t work on set pieces, or much else it seems.

Thank him in the summer for a job done, and move him on.
Kopite messaged me during the game and said god it must be a hard slog watching Everton. Where is the creativity and ambition to win the game? For once I couldn’t disagree with a kopite. 😩

Yeh it’s terrible mate.

But I guess starting your best CB at left back, and your best midfielder at RB to shoe horn in your favourites whilst playing an 18yo CM at left wing will make it hard to create.

It’s all on Moyes. For me, he doesn’t know what he’s doing that much appears evident now.

A United fan messaged me after the game and said we edged a poor game. But we were helped by your best midfielder being RB Brainthwaite left back and leaving George on the bench so late. Once again you can’t disagree with this.

Ah, the “Moyes Team” myth rears its head again. Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry and James McCarthy never played in a Moyes team. Barkley had barely been given a sniff under Moyes but played under Martinez and Stones got significant game time in 2013/14 having never featured under Moyes. Granted, Martinez self sabotaged and crashed and burned eventually but his first season of actual positivity and talking the club up was a huge shot in the arm.
Also you the very very wind

Moyes strength used to be being able to set up a team to be hard to beat and every home game we play teams seem to find a way to get easy goals against us. Not surprised that we a finding goals hard to come by when they have a week to prepare for a game and come up with such a poor set piece routine to put so many corners to poor use. I`d like to hear him explain who came up with that Sunday pub league type of tactic and why someone though that would find us a goal in a PL game.

Starting a game with 3 players out of position will always put you at a disadvantage. And like I mentioned yesterday, it’s unforgivable starting your best centre back at left back just to shoe horn Keane in.
Resulting of a left hand side of Branthwaite and Armstrong. Then when he finally brought a winger on he played a youngster right winger out there instead of switching Ndiaye over and playing George on the right. Hopeless.

Plays not to get beat in every game, no matter the opponents, predictable percentage football constantly, square pegs all over the place and simply awful tactics, set pieces and throw ins.

Add to that little hit-list, his criminal mis management of the players he has available, especially the younger lads in the squad, and we can just kiss Europe bye-bye.

The league is really poor, a little bravery in tactics and selection and Europe was a distinct possibility but I think it’s gone now.
