2025/26 David Moyes

35 high turnovers and the options around you are Gana and Tim, tell yourself what you want to believe.

But it's not a coincidence that those 2 players weren't a major part in those turnover failures..

Watch, don't read
Obviously disappointed with the lack of coherence in linking up the attack where service could be more efficient especially in regards to the set pieces , still frustrated with Moyes insistence to have Gana operate on the ball outside the opposing teams box and not include Rohl or Charly.

At the same time we actually provided a fight and were competitive throughout the match so I don't know why copious posters are in an uproar acting like this was a major debacle it's not like the 4-2 loss to Brentford, people need to put matters into perspective, man united is currently 4th and have spent 700 million net in the past 5 years...

And yet West Ham gave them all they could handle two weeks before...i guess they didnt put it in perspective and start three cbs and no legitimate fbs with two on the bench...the perspective is, as his history shows, wee Davey bottled it before the first ball was even kicked by picking such a negative team...Man Utd arent the best team to play here by a long chalk.

I don't understand how anyone can defend this atrocious management. Every time it's who he perceives as safe pairs of hands in every position, while players with the ability to create chances and entertain don't even make the bench.

It's almost like he's got a large sum bet on us finishing 10th or something.

No doubt it will take a drop in season ticket revenue and attendances next season for the owners to work it out.

Martinez had us 5th first season...and he didn't have 11 seasons with us to build a team, unlike Moyes, who got about as much cash as Martinez had to spend pro-rata.

Martinez would have us playing with this squad...because he's a coach who can coach players.

Martinez didn’t need to build a team as he had Moyes team.

Martinez had our 1st and 3rd biggest ever net spends at the time while he was here.

You seem to ignore Martinez 2nd and 3rd seasons where he quite clearly showed he couldn’t coach players.

In the summer we signed Aznou, Dibling, Alcaraz, Grealish, Rohl, KDH and Barry. Then George on loan in January. Of those 8 new signings, only 2 started the game last night. It’s hardly a glowing endorsement of Moyes’ ability to coach players. The Friedkins shouldn’t give him the chance to squander another transfer window with signings he won’t play.

Ah, the “Moyes Team” myth rears its head again. Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry and James McCarthy never played in a Moyes team. Barkley had barely been given a sniff under Moyes but played under Martinez and Stones got significant game time in 2013/14 having never featured under Moyes. Granted, Martinez self sabotaged and crashed and burned eventually but his first season of actual positivity and talking the club up was a huge shot in the arm.

I know I'll be in the minority after another loss but I still think the club would do well to have a bit of patience and see where Moyes takes us next season. If this time next year we've not improved like we have in his first 12 months then fair enough.

If there is a new manager in the summer, then he's going to need a lot of investment in players and a decent amount of time to build - more than people are willing to afford right now.

The best half of football we’ve played since last winning at home at the start of December was the second half performance against Leeds when we played a back 3.
Since then, Moyes hasn’t tried it again. He’s so negative and unable to change his approach either in team selection or in game management.
I know xG is a contentious statistic but ours was 0.63 last night. That’s hopeless for home game. The nearest we came to scoring was a speculative effort from 30 yards from a centre back who no one wants to be in the team because he’s a liability defensively. Moyes is clueless.

It was a good improvement of 9 more points more than the season before but as you say he absolutely crashed and burned after that and we've never really recovered. From that point on, it felt like the club had no stability.

I’ve been very much a Moyes defender.

I can’t any more, it’s terrible football, it’s terrible team selections, it’s terrible in game management and substitutes.

There doesn’t appear to be any game plan. He shoe horns players in (Keane & Gana). We clearly don’t work on set pieces, or much else it seems.

Thank him in the summer for a job done, and move him on.
