2025/26 David Moyes

Well its knife to a gunfight time....Moyes loves these games, bigs up the opposition, talks about how well they are playing and we are not there yet or words to that effect and we will try to keep it tight and see what happens"...zero expectation, zero results its not his fault because we cant compete...if he gets anything out of it he is a genius. Hes made a career out of these games😊
This is Moyesworld in a paragraph. Siege mentality football to nick a point or a win against the odds, but get pumped by lesser teams.

Its definitely a little feisty on here at times, no doubt. Ultimately if Moyes can turn our home form and performances around we should be there or thereabouts for a European spot and, he will have done a good to great job by any measurement. I will gladly stand up and admit it.

Conversely, if our home form and performances remain putrid, will you Moyes fans then admit that he hasnt been good this year and changing managers for the right man this summer isnt unreasonable?

My thoughts are that he will get a complete pass for possible bad results upcoming " because we are playing top teams" yet when we played "non top" teams and were expecting wins in some of those games and didnt get them, his supporters said" jeez, dilusional!, no easy games in EPL, Afcon, injuries, new stadium" etc.

If we can't expect to get anything from " top teams" and shouldnt expect to get anything from the others, in front of our own fans, why even bother?

Amazingly he has took the team he had last season and gone backwards if you look at points per game earned last season versus this season.

Are you suggesting 62 should be the minimum number of points our team should have got this season?

Just pointing out it has gone backwards from the 19 games he had in the Premier League last season.

You would think after a full preseason and his own signings it would get better.

At least his FA Cup form has remained the same. Also more records for him, last Everton manager to get knocked out at Goodison and the first at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

Well, I think to expect 62 points with the squad we had last season would be overachieving...

Cups and home form are not satisfying tho...

I read a quote from a West Ham fan who described Moyes as 'An analogue Manager in a digital age' and I get it.

I'll always love Moyesey but when I heard about him staying till 11pm after the game the other week because he was fuming with our performance alarm bells rang. He was 100% responsible for it and everyone knew what was coming at 7pm when the line up was released.

The truth is our best performances have came when he's been forced into picking a certain 11 due to injuries/suspension/AFCON. Them games hes been forced into playing players in the correct positions and playing more positive football. Give him a full squad and hes been making some bizarre decisions.

I can't speak for anyone else but at the moment I find us horrible to watch and although our league position is healthy right now our form isn't. It only takes us to lose a couple of games and we're not far off the bottom 5. With the way Moyes has us tactically I don't see us attacking this final third of the season but more going out with a whimper like we did in both cups.

I don't think there should ever be a season where Everton aren't aiming for some sort of silverware and I think fans deserve better than to spend Mondays in work, then make the ballache journey to Bramley Moore, spend a fortune on food and drink and then sit in a freezing cold stadium watching a team set up to do anything but entertain.

I suppose its down to what your amibition and tolerance is. If you're happy to spend a couple more thousand pounds a year to watch a team play like us and excuse it with the line 'look at the last few years' then thats on you but I'm coming home from games fed up and I think we deserve better.

Part ways in the Summer and thank him for everything he's done, get someone in who wants to win games and silverware.
