2025/26 David Moyes

Its not that we want him sacked and let’s get rid because he’s doing a terrible job, it’s the bigger picture, and all this were in 8th, you say it like the seasons finished, there’s a long way to go and it’s a congested table

The football, Is boring it’s uninspiring, the home form is a joke. And we all know it’s not changing under Moyes. It’s how he plays and sets up, it’s safety first management. With the tough run we have left, I’d be surprised if we finished top half, if we do and even get Europe, then he will no doubt get his last year.
If we finish 13th then it’s a different conversation, you can’t be finishing there, playing the way we do.

So for the manager it’s game on, maybe if he knows TFG expect 10th of higher, he may have to let the handbrake off, but I won’t hold my breath

we shall see

I'm glad we're able to acknowledge that.

If the footy is entertaining but the results are worse, how long will blues put up with it?

I can't see anyone accepting bottom half finishes based on the conversation here.

Think when we have 30+ years without a trophy, hoping a man responsible for over a third of that who hasn't ever won a domestic trophy stifles some hope - and that also plays into patience.

Our target is definitely Europe, but I've not seen, aside from a tiny minority make the point that we should be in Europe. For me, it's certainly not that or bust. Nor is it a big expectation - we're 7th/8th-12th/13th.

I'd be disappointed if we finished bottom half, and pleased if we finish top half but again - the margins there are so small, it's not something that should be huge issue/conclusive either way.

Either Moyes, a manager we've known for decades is the right man - in which case give him a new contract this summer. Or, he isn't.

He definitely wasn't TFGs preferred choice, but sometimes you can have happy accidents in football. Liverpool wanted Amorim. That's football.

I've seen plenty say we should sack the manager if he doesn't get Europe, fair enough it's not you.

My questions are about what happens post-Moyes.

My minimum expectation for the next manager will be to do better than Moyes. I won't be very patient if we sack Moyes and bring in someone with a better style of footy and worse results.

I'd suggest anyone under performing Moyes has a shelf life of 18 months max. That was what was typical before fan discontent becomes too loud to ignore. See Koeman and Silva for recent examples.

Solid question, Jake , I don't really know what expectations should truly be as the run in is pretty challenging on paper. That's why I was hoping Moyes would of fared better against the weaker teams we played over the past couple of months as we could use all the points as possible to compensate for a downturn in form. So our next five matches are Man united, new castle , Burnley, Arsenal and Chelsea id say if we got 7 points to 9 points I'd be elated . 4 to 6 points is the bare minimum I guess As those are some tough teams not just based on Moyes's history, Everton as a club too

From what I can see online we have a win rate just under 20% for matches against "Top 6" opponents and an overall record of

W76 D114 L202

I'd say 4 to 6 is definitely possible. A win against Burnley and a draw or two from the others is what I'd imagine also.

100% they will, considering he wasn’t on the list for the summer, he was available in the January, but wouldn’t have got the job in the summer. TFG our worth 12billion, 5mil is nothing if the man they want is available.

Like I said yesterday, American owners want good home form, yes we will sell season tickets, but they want you entertained so you go early and stay after the game and spend money, yes not all fans will do that, but we don’t fill it now and a load of fans leave early.
Who do you see as Moyes replacement?

Who’re the plenty, name names

Is there really any point in naming specific names. The pro Moyes group on here who all seem to moonlight as fortune tellers with their crystal balls and tarot cards will instantly dismiss any as 'Not up to the job' or 'Won't do what Moyes does' or some other bit of random codswallop that they come out with because they can all see into the future. Like I said to you the other day, there will be a lot of managerial upheaval in the summer and Id like to see who is actually available first before making any decisions.

No names?
Well I have said Iraola from the premier league , who apparently kinnear was keen on at Leeds. But there plenty of good managers across Europe. We’ve only ever appointed from
The premier league, bar smith and Moyes, but obviously both were British managers.
I wouldn’t mind us thinking outside the box for once, 2 names I’ve seen mentioned regarding who TFG like, Farioli and Fabregas
