2025/26 David Moyes

The problem is do you want progression beyond midtable and cup success? If so do you think Moyes is the man looking at his history?
Of course like we all do but look at recent years and the likes of Forest, Spurs etc. should have a bit of patience considering where we were 12 months ago matey ;)
What success is he going to bring to us?
Stability mate like I said maybe he aint the man to take us forward but there's many worse options look at the state of the club the last few years maybe people just love the thrill of the threat of relegation

Stability is not success though.

Lets get Fat Sam back.

Big reason the gaps aren’t addressed is because of Moyes though , I’d give him plenty of leeway if we’d spend nothing In the summer
Its easy saying that though, but none of us really know.

If we had the money available like people say, why stick to a free transfer Rb.

Why do an obligation to buy loan, instead of just paying outright.

That looks to me like the money people think we had, we didnt.
Or why put Rohl fee into the next summers account..

We went into the window thinking we were more attractive than we were.. that was the problem..

Though I haven't actually got a clue, it's more just trying put pieces in the puzzle..

But it's Moyes who has turned down possible right back signings. It's Moyes who plays O'Brien ahead of Patterson even after Patterson did fine when he was at right back. It's Moyes who never plays Aznou because he's not physical enough (since when has this been a requirement for a full back?) His team selections are always with caution in mind so I fail to see what will change even if we buy new full backs (they'll most likely be defensively solid rather than attack minded anyway)

Flick a coin

He's stays until contract up.
Goes in the summer.

Easiest solution..

Managers available now or likely to be this summer if the club were considering options - all with ‘PL experience’ at manager level bar one who played for the rs…

Silva
Glasner
Iraola
Maresca
De Zerbi
Pochettino
Alonso

Some good managers there. Whether they'd come is another thing. Probably more importantly is how much they're going to have to spend because the squad as it currently is won't do much better than mid table regardless of who is in charge.

Which teams do you think the new manager will have us finishing above that we aren't right now?
I don't know that depends on the manager. Tbh I have no issue with where we are in the league, however its awful stuff too watch at times. We have recently gone into games where the manager has got his match prep/setup so completely wrong and had to massively readjust to save the game at half time. I'm fed up of watching Pickford hoof the ball up to two strikers, neither of whom want the ball played to them like that. The midfield getting constantly walked through in games because Moyes won't drop Gana and because there is just no general organisation in that area full stop.
There is also the issues with recruitment, I just don't see it ever working. The recent window Moyes allegedly wanted the likes of Sterling and Wilson (older PL experience players) and we ended up with a loan for George who fits the TFG model of 'younger players with a sell on' We have barely seen Dibling and Aznou or Rohl and you can argue night and day the reasons why. This stuff will all come to a head at some point though and there will only be one winner and it won't be Moyes.
I can appreciate the job he did last season and what he will do this one, but I feel we will never ever get to where we want to be under Moyes regardless of time or money.

An exceptionally dangerous game when you start getting rid of managers because you have gripes with the style of football they play and not the position you find yourself in the league. Just one year after being right next to the relegation zone as well.

I always say if we had an enormous budget and a fantastic squad of players then go out and get a manager in that has experience of winning the lot. Unfortunately that is far from being the case.

Right now for me, there's very little to gain from getting rid of Moyes but a lot potentially to lose if the new appointment doesn't go to plan.

If he's come in to a club in our state and leaves within 30months with us feeling comfortable around European places, than he's done the job he was brought in to do.
Thats a successful job in any other world.
The man that replaces him will carry the medal success as his job expectation.

I dont honestly think it's that risky right now to make a change. Our squad isn't good by any means but it's not a relegation squad anymore either. Even a bad manager gets this team to lower midtable and low 40 points.

I dont really mind if we make a change this summer or next summer but we will need to make a change soon. Moyes is good at what he does but his limitations are now too obvious and predictable. He isn't good enough to make the club become regular European contenders and to contend for trophies.
