2025/26 David Moyes

Looking forward to seeing what Keane and Gana can bring to the team. And good to see that with only two wingers on the bench, we can play a brilliant 19 year old centre midfielder out on the right instead. Important that we don’t try and finish in the Top 8 as we don’t want to get into Europe as we aren’t “ready for it”. Best leave all that to European behemoths like Fulham, Brentford and Sunderland to fight over. Plucky, plucky Everton. Zzzzz.

All this stuff about players being ready or fit and in form is nonsense.

Rohl was playing his best football for us. Dropped for a half fit bang out form Gueye.

Patterson was finally finding some rhythm, dropped for OBrien who’s having a terrible season at right back. He was however playing very well at CB but is dropped for Keane who was also not match fit after his ban.

I think we genuinely just look at the 11 with the most number of PL appearance for Everton (or championship appearances for Preston) and just shove them out in an 11 and hope it works.

Boring, safety first weird team selection from the manager, which was always the concern when we’ve actually got multiple options in multiple positions.

How can the only change from the Brighton game be to drop branthwaite for Myko……

Maddening.
Last time he was the manager, I always said if you offered him 19 0-0 away from home he’d snap your hands off

How many of the team will be “doing a job” today, rather than doing the job they are best at? I hope it pays off as Moyes has had magnificent form away from home since he’s come back so let’s hope for some more of his KITAP1.

Was even saying it in the presser, got 4 points off Brighton, would be good to get the same off Fulham. Just go out and try and win every game rather than saying beforehand a point would be good because you’ve beaten them in the previous fixture.

Hope we try and win the return legs against Liverpool City Arsenal Spurs Newcastle Chelsea because we took zero points in the reverse fixture!

It’s a very odd existence being a David Moyes super fan driving around every day with a big van full of context to explain away any perceived slight against his name

Pick something more worthy of adoration. Like a really well stocked fridge or something
Can't we do both?

Under Moyes, it’s never a case of how much we can hurt the opposition, but rather how much we can limit the opposition. I doubt Fulham will be quaking in their boots about an Everton right side of O’Brien and Armstrong, players who are criminally being played out of position.

It’s these type of selections that give the opposition confidence and more licence to attack us without having to worry too much about what damage we can do to them.

It’s so safe and defeatist and really doesn’t/shouldnt have a place in top flight football these days.
