2025/26 David Moyes

Based on beating Bayern Munich to a league title which is a massive achievement in itself. He's widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the game. Only reason he 'failed' at Real was because the players don't like being coached with minutae detail so did what Real players do and conspired against the manager. He'll end up at the RS most probably and he'll unfortunately turn their fortunes around much to my chagrin
Most managers are detail oriented. The guy who was the true genius at Leverkusen was the guy who ran the football operations.

We can afford Grealish. If you sign a top player you have to pay top wages.
If we signed a Maguire like player on £190k a week do you suppose Branthwaite, or Dewsbury-Hall, or N'Diaye would be happy on £60k, £90k and £45k respectively? Or would they all want a pay rise? We can afford Grealish for one year and as a player a level above which holds down the potential for wage requests, although not forever. Can we afford him on his current wage beyond that? That remains to be seen. But Maguire isn't Grealish, other players wouldn't just accept being on a quarter of his wage. So how do we deal with that. Unhappy players or unsustainable wage bills? Neither seem like a good option to me.

I damn well hope KDH and Branthwaite are happy as they just signed contracts!

Nah totally the wrong fit for a club that needs a total rebuild
we don't need a total rebuild.
Pickford, Branthwaite, Garner, KDH, Ndiaye (all excellent or potentially excellent)
O'Brien, Tark, Gana, Dibling, Barry, Armstrong (good, with the potential to be very good)
Keane, Aznou, Alcaraz, Beto (good squad players)
Possibly Grealish too.
That's sixteen players.
There seem to be a lot of academy prospects coming through too. Notably Graham.
Throw in some quality full backs, maybe a new winger/striker.

We have a stadium that earns multiples of what Goodison could.

Moyes, to his credit, has brought stability,
My fear is that in the last few home games he was outsmarted by Andrews, Edwards, and Farke

I genuinely think Ancelotti may feel he has unfinished business here and we're in a farrr better position compared to the last time he was here.

Of course, but after Madrid there are a lot of questions.
Not at all. His coaching is still praised but Real are a club where certain managers just don't fit in with the primadonna ways of the players who have the ear of Florentino Perez. Alonso would improve standards at Everton immediately though its a fictitious argument as he'd never come here anyway

All the DoF. When it's Moyes, however, the DoF is useless. His narrative is tiresome, every other manager is a beneficiary of some behind the scenes genius, Moyes has to battle continually against fools otherwise he would have won the lot.
Tim Steidten was a bad DOF and his picks have been awful. He actually was a scout for Leverkusen and it was assumed he was better than he was.

Simon Rolfes is the guy who has transformed and built Leverkusen.

Would he? Based on what exactly? Does he have magic powder that no other coaches have?
