After the villa game Moyes made a point of how hard they had worked in training on their tactics to stop villa playing which is great.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard him or they players say how hard they’ve worked on tactics to open a team up after a win

That for me is Moyes in a nutshell. Great at setting teams up to nick a win and grind out a result but not a natural at coaching them to dominate and force the issue.

We will need a coach who does the latter if we want to compete for pots

Patto was fine again. Moyes would rather play people still learning to walk again though. Team selection and changes baffled me. Thank goodness Barry is red hot at the moment. Five goals from ten efforts. Illy for Grealish just have been it for starters.

Finals actually tend to be cagey affairs when you have evenly matched teams.

Yeah especially when one of them parks the bus within 1 minute and hopes they shithouse a goal, which they did. Once in a lifetime.

He should've gotten it spot on from the start then. The 3 at the back solved us getting more of the ball but we kept doing nothing with it until the end of the game regardless.

TBH the team he put out was the one I expected. It didn’t work he adapted and we got something, although still disappointing

One thing that has always struck me with Moyes is whether its injuries , suspensions plus an abnormally small squad he often stumbles upon a formation to get a result.
He did it at Villa and I was pissed off he changed it tonight and Leeds took full advantage by flooding the midfield and having able runners to counter attack.
He changes it at half time and matches them with 3 centre backs with Dewsbury Hall being the extra body in midfield , it was some turn around.
Will he stick with that for the next game , history says he wont. Thats why we are where we are.
And surely he's seen Myko & McNeil offer nothing in any formation he puts out and need replacing ASAP.

That's a problem too - why did you expect a changed team from the one that's worked now for a few games? Why would any manager do that and not ease the players back in instead?

Thank God he changed things at half time and not after 60 minutes. I hope that is the last time we see McNeil not only for how crap he is but also it was his fault not tracking back for their goal. I’m sure Moyes has him a bollocking. Moyes does know how to change things up and tonight he certainly got it right with the subs

Everybody available next week except Grealish. No excuse not to try alternative tactics and/or players.

It is Moyes though but I can live in hope until the team is announced.
