2025/26 David Moyes

As good as that win was, his comments after the game sound to me like he was bigging this win up as some amazing achievement. Like it was some marvellous night in the club history. I'm exaggerating here but that schtick was very tired many many years ago IMO. It still comes across as the "club small and plucky, Moyes big and brave" narrative from his first time around.

It annoys me a lot personally, but fair enough if you don't care or don't believe it's how he sees us and himself.

We may not win something with another manager but from summer on I would definitely prefer our club, in a professional and organised manner, appoint a manager that makes sense for our current position AND gives you hope of something more. I get that some hold out hope that he might get what they consider a fairytale ending to his time with us, but I would give it a less than 10% chance of it happening based on what I have observed of him over many years.

(Before getting called out for fuming, I'm delighted with the win and have not called for his sacking this season. I also don't think any version of him staying another year or two is a disaster, it just sounds extremely uninspiring to me. I'd like to get excited about this club again)

Doesn’t matter what he said after that game you would have found an issue with it.

Like we are going to win anything with any other manager ! We are in safe hands and comfortably doing okay under Moyes !
