2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes and Glasner are an interesting contrast. Glasner has won a trophy for Palace and has the going well in Europe. He’s calling out the board for not backing him and is prepared to walk out on them because of it. Meanwhile Moyes is still talking about how difficult transfers are and how grateful we should be for the job he’s doing. One of these mentalities is far closer to our motto than the other.

So bored of people wanting a new manager after a poor run of form. Our already paper thin squad has been decimated by injury and afcon. What do people expect? Moyes has done well with the players he has. It will take 3/4 years for us to be genuine euro qualifiers. We have no strikers. Our whole midfield has been missing for a month. Our best defender hasn't played once. Just have some patience

The same people say all the players are crap as well.

I expect us to sign a right back, and possibly a left back. I expect us not to just sit through January while we fail to beat Brentford and Wolves at home and get dumped out of the fa cup. I expect the manager to be more ambitious with the way he sets the team up.

Nothing wrong with that. But you don't just sign a right back. Nobody is happy with those results. But did you not see our bench v Sunderland? We need another 7/8 players to build a decent squad. That doesn't happen overnight or in January. Be interesting to see who people think would take over the current squad (today with injuries etc..) and finish in European spots.

It’s not just about a manager trying to get these players into Europe. It’s about a long term plan, buying the right players, having a style that gets fans on board and having a manager that wants to attack and get the team on the front foot. The fans need to see a bigger picture, all I see is an old manager, who’s scared to lose, has no plan B has terrible in game management, the football is awful, uninspiring, as dull as dishwasher. Who’s constantly playing down aspirations.

Why would we want to retain an overly cautious manager who let's fear guide everything? When we could install someone willing to take advantage of the fact that clubs are underperforming and actually use that to our advantage, Moyes should leave in the summer, His rigidity is a major detriment and he shouldn't be deciding our recruitment in the summer.
Because the first part of your statement is just a weird crank narrative. Most normal people don't think that.

What makes you think Everton had any divine right to beat them? Man utd never beat them at old trafford. Liverpool were hanging on against them at Anfield. Arsenal beat them at the emirates with a 94th min OG. They're not the Wolves under Pereira.
I dont get the "cant even beat" bit when 3 of the current top 5 in the league struggled against them.
This isn't defending Moyes. Its more a look around. Its not just Everton who have not rolled them over in the last month or so.
That doesn't fit people's agenda. Moyes should have signed Semenyo and Guehi this window and be competing for a champion's league spot.

Why not?
