2025/26 David Moyes

He said that we should keep Dyche, we'd get enough points and the bottom three weren't going to get many more points. It may pain you to admit it but @davek was right. Btw I thought he was wrong at the time but he wasn't.

But what part of Dyche, leaving us 1pt above the drop, after another massive winless run, gave you confidence we could survive...

The end of the season may not have needed many points to stay up but who the Hell were we beating?

Moyes creates a glass ceiling of his own making. He still lives by the sentiment of ‘knife to a gunfight.’ He’d choose a plastic fork even if he was offered a hydrogen bomb.
Glasner has shown at Palace what can be achieved with some ambition and attacking intent. We should at the very least be asking him if he’d be interested in the job rather than another season of dour tactics and negative team selections.

Pretty much what you were saying was hindsight regarding @blueboy72 @davek said at the time that we'd get enough points to survive and that other teams at bottom weren't going to get many more points.
No we were dead and buried mate
An atrocious first half of the season and we got 17 points, but apparently we were only getting 7 or 8 in tbe 2nd half of the season

I'm certainly not in the camp that thinks Moyes should be gone now, or even at the end of the season but that might change for me after we see what position we end up finishing in.

In one way, I'd be interested to see how he'd do if given next Summers transfer window to see if we can build more of a squad that can consistently compete and improve but I don't think I'd trust him to, and fear we may see more 'experienced' players who won't necessarily be rubbish, but won't help us go up a gear.

Which is why I I'd have no issue with a different manager who has a different approach to things. We may not win anything still, we might not qualify for European football either but I don't really expect any of those things under Moyes really. There's the outside chance we do of course but it'll always be that.

….with so many clubs struggling, I still think it’d be so sensible to extend Moyes contract for another season or at least persuade him to have the option of another year.
Why would we want to retain an overly cautious manager who let's fear guide everything? When we could install someone willing to take advantage of the fact that clubs are underperforming and actually use that to our advantage, Moyes should leave in the summer, His rigidity is a major detriment and he shouldn't be deciding our recruitment in the summer.
