2025/26 David Moyes

Hopefully not 18 months, and who knows Swartzy maybe it'll be someone I like and someone you don't. A change is as good as a rest.

Come the summer there’ll need to be a decision made on a contract extension or a new manager otherwise we face the prospect of a group of players knowing the manager is in his final year without a contract extension in place. That rarely ends well and is a silly position for any competent owners to allow the club to be in.

Should be on 31 points after tonight (jinxed it, I know), 17 points clear of the drop and solidly mid table. I think we would have all taken that at the start of the season, and I’m guessing would have been a target for the owners.

That being said, some games have been awful and with a better right back and striker, I think we’d be comfortably targeting Europe.

Let’s hope the return of the injured players, and the Senegalese princes, we can push on and have a strong finish.

Last 2 seasons we've earned the points to finish 20+ points clear and closer to Europe than relegation.

We then spent a few bob so I think so should start looking up - target Europe as Moyes said, if we fall short, its top 10.

The league is wide open for several non-Sky clubs to go and grab European places. Humiliating home defeats against Spurs, Newcastle and Brentford have already cost us vital points, tonight no more points can be dropped.

In typical Everton style, we'll drop off and clubs like Palace and Bournemouth will likely end up with silverware and European places while we're "waiting patiently to progress", as usual.

Moyes has done well since returning, but not good enough this season with the money HE AGREED to be spent on players and the squad he built.

Tonight he can do one if we do not win in very comfortable fashion against the statistically worst club the Premier League has ever seen.

Has to go quietly in the summer.
