2025/26 David Moyes

The immediate issue is putting a stop to these results at home. The same issues persist - conceding early and from set pieces in particular.
We need to be as compact at home as we are away. The sooner we can transition to JB and JOB as our main centre back pairing, the better. Keane cannot be given another year and Tarkowski needs to begin the transition to backup.
Sadly no way we'll ever see JB and JOB together as Moyes will always want an 'old head' in there, regardless of form or them being inferior players.

Davey doing what Davey does, that’s why we will never kick on or win anything under him.

To mess with a winning back four is just criminal - if it was to get Branthwaite back in I can understand, but he does it to get Keane back ffs.

He’s done a great job since coming back after what Dyche left him with, but today and not taking the other opportunities we’ve had show us what he is.

A safe pair of hands that more than capable of dropping the baby on its head a few times a year.

Since when has Moyes not been 100% behind his own signings?
Hes called dithering dave because he spends time selecting players to sign.
We punted Thelwell and its now on Moyes.
Its even been publically stated by Kinnear than Moyes makes the decisions.
Wev even brought in Moyes mate from City to underline this
Its all on Moyes.

Could have signed 2 full backs in Jan with deals negotiated by Thelwell and Moyes declined them.
100% this.

Moyes takes responsibility for any signings. It's his watch and - good or bad - he's the man who gets the final say on them.

When Moyes was bemoaning the lack of signings all summer - who do you think he was talking to? Himself?

100% he was laying blame away from himself and onto a being from a far away magical realm which does not exist.

Moyes always seeks to downplay expectations. Always pushes blame.

He knew the fans would be frustrated and so he made himself look like the victim and tried to align himself with fans.

His stupid 9 or 10 signings play to the crowd with the gormless smile underlined that.

He had credit in the bank in the summer.

Less so now.

We’re not going down. FA cup run is critical.

Sunderland at home is a very handy tie. Is it the easist? No. But are we their dream away FA Cup opponents?

No chance.

They've got more players than us out and we have to be winning that tie. Whatever it takes: we win that or this season has taken a dark turn.

Very hard to do though because 52,000 people are not going to sit and watch 30% possession like we had at Forest. They want an Everton team at home to attack. That leaves gaps and space. We have two slow centre backs.

What was the stuff with their manager and Moyes?

Moyes needs to hang his head in shame never mind having a go at Andrews for completely outwitting and outcoaching him...a feller who's a novice at his job.

I dont think a single player comes in without Moyes approval.

If he isn't central to recruitment, considering we legged DOF model, reportedly on Moyes preference, then who is ultimately responsible for the club's recruitment?
This is the big question?

We got told by Angus that it was a three way decision making committee but Moyes has approved every signing.

I really want to know what happened this summer and how far down the list we went on some of these lads.

I’ve made no secret of my support for Moyes, but it was all wrong today. The centre backs should never have been changed, McNeil in the middle to start was a poor choice and his sub at half time were hideous.

We where struggling in the middle of the park he should have took Dibling off, moved McNeil out wide and but Armstrong on. To go two up top seemed a strange move.

We are a work in progress, bad day at the office. Onwards and upwards.
