Just a complete feeling of “flatness” with all this for me. Absolutely zero excitement about this supposed fresh new start at a new stadium with new owners. Seems we are just cursed to never shake off our horrific recent past. Let’s hope he keeps us safe and we kick on and that when he does reach his limits of what he can do, these new owners are more ambitious than the loser owner who kept him in situ here for 11 trophyless years before allowing him to run his contract down and then gave him a guard of honour as he jibbed us off.

For the next five months I’ll settle with some goals, wins and no Doucoure in the squad leading to safety by April at the latest.

Worry about next season and beyond when we are safe

On Moyes, I've often said of his tenure here that if I could go back in time and be told the 11 years we had under him would I take it, I'd have said no.

I'd say the same now, I wouldn't sign up for another 11 years of what he delivered before.

Sure, it's better than now. A lot better.

But you've got to have some hope in football.

I've spent years preaching pragmatism and having to take our medicine - but all that was on knowing we had a new stadium coming, with new owners and new manager to give us a real jolt in the right direction from the summer. Better times were coming, we just had to get through.

For us to go back to Moyes on a 2.5 year contract, and heralding his 11 years of 'success' - if that's success, then what's the point?

I think we of all clubs can be a little entitled for once - and it feels like we've just kicked the can further down the road.

I just hope we have someone lined up in the summer who can unite the fans, and bring us some hope.

Honestly don't understand the hatred at all. He transformed the club single handedly after the dark days, gave 10yrs of service and left for arguably the biggest job in the world at the time after a decade of having his hands tied by Bill the buffoon. As if anyone else here wouldn't have done the same. Of course he would have tried to take his best players, it's a business. Literally all managers do it.
That's a misreading of many people's reservations.

I didn't like the way he left - but it's business. Kenwright let us down there, not Moyes. What grates with lots of people is the perception that this man, deep down, sees us as plucky underdogs - or, at least, used to. He imposes a ceiling on what he believes possible. He limits his own competence. Therefore, he dilutes hope. Attitudes to him will only change if he is here long enough to significantly improve the squad to the extent that they can win away at a top side - or beat sides we should be beating in cup competitions when the chance to make a splash arrives (such as when he blew it against Reading in 2010 and Wigan in 2013). And that would need to happen within the next 18 months, realistically. Can he do that? I'd love to see it - but most sceptics wouldn't be backing him to do that and, therefore, win people over.

His European win at West Ham might mean he sees things differently now. Here's hoping. I am fond of Moyes. Him winning a league cup with us would be incredible. But I have few delusions with him as manager (though, to be fair, that might not be a bad thing at this delusional club).

He's an absolute garbage manager, and an utter loser. Our new owners had a chance to make a statement by getting in a manager that would give the entire club a boost but instead they went for this floppy cock of a manager.

Just utter blue tinted glass wearing brigade who think this is a good thing. Then i shouldn't be surprised as most of our fanbase think Moyes getting to a CL playoff is some sort of success.

looking forward to the absolutely awful football in the new stadium. Won't be long before BMD has the echos of booing ringing round.

ha ha ha ha ha ha you chat utter utter horse poo

If its a contract to 2027, then I think the only way Moyes is replaced is if we get relegated

Just don't see any way we stay up and he is sacked and we have a 2 year contract to pay out. The following season I could see a change in the summer because demands would be much higher.
