Interesting to see the difference in opinions here. You younger lot will have blue tinted glasses on for Moyes as he was your first manager. Us older lot who saw the the great 80's sides know better.
Hmm. Not quite. I’m 55 and I think that the Moyes appointment is ok. His record with us was ok and I would love to get back to there.

I have seen late 70’s teams too.

I am backing him until there is some reason not too. Gets us safe this year and easily safe next year, top 10 year after. That would be progress given our recent endeavours

Utterly deluded. Bloody hilarious.
It's now almost 20 years since Moyes peak (Villareal August 2025). He's been downhill ever since.
"Moyes knows a player" my arse. For every one Tim Cahill there's a James Beattie or Per Kroldrup.
Appointing Moyes now is the worst decision in the clubs history.
Yes even appointing the fat waiter had a devilment to it as it annoyed the RS and he had a history of success.
The absolute shame of it now when we're on the verge of a new era with new owners and a new stadium.
At least he'll be gone soon is my only hope but it'll mean we're in a hell of a mess come April.

oh, come on lad you're embarrassing yourself here.

Go back and look through the players moyes brought in and you'll realise you're way off base on this one.

If you dont like moyes thats fine but saying he bought loads of crap players is just letting your dislike of someone cloud your judgement here.

….i have absolutely zero problem with him leaving for Man Utd when he had that opportunity. Football management is so fickle, had he stayed he’d probably never get such a chance again. It’s just so unimportant to me.

It was one of the hardest successions in football ever, since I can't remember many that defined a club as much as SAF.

Tbf, no one has managed to become the next SAF there.

And there were managers like van Gaal or Mourinho than won many titles on the highest levels.

Lived through the golden 80's
Not thrilled with Moyes's return, but needs must and Dycheball was heading one way only.
Hopefully a safe pair on hands to get another 20 points or so before May.
