Chatting with a West Ham fan last night in a bar in Portugal.

Despite them being 4th from bottom and him winning a European trophy with them and getting them their highest prem finishes, he still thinks it was the right thing to do h to do in letting him go.

I can understand people there not enjoying the football they are paying to watch, but that’s pretty nuts IMO.
You only have to jump in a taxi at Euston to understand that the average west ham hasn't got a clue
I never said they didn’t. He still used/tried them though. Like I say, I just took the names off transfermarkt as strikers he used while he was here.

I agree we shared the goals round, Cahill and Fellaini got loads. Now we don’t have players who have spread the goals around or the striker to score. And the evidence from West Ham (where he has spent decent money) was also struggling to find the striker to score consistently.

Just my view. Hope he finds one.
Surely Bowen and Antonio hit the net regularly under Moyes time at west ham. Soucek has been more prolific than our strikers for most his time at West Ham. Can't for the life of me see why people don't want us to sign a him if his available at decent price.
While they haven't had a 20 goal as season striker its hard to see where that would come from? https://www.football365.com/news/20-goal-premier-league-seasons-the-statistics

this link shows how uncommon it is for any team outside the sky 6 to pick up one of these players. https://www.football365.com/news/20-goal-premier-league-seasons-the-statistics

Thing with Soucek, it suggests short term thinking and long ball football.

I’d rather we moved away from both.

Bowens more a winger but to be fair, Antonio hit 10, 3 seasons on the bounce. I wonder what the views on here of him were if it was ever suggested we signed him in the last 5 years. I like soucek as well and he would be a vast improvement for our team (but I imagine costs more than we want to pay for a 30 yr old).

I agree about finding 20 goal a season strikers. I’ve made that point on GOT multiple times over the years around how few there are. I’m only suggesting finding a 10 goal a season striker that can do it more than once for us and that even that has been hard.

To be fair, even just scoring 10 a season once for us, let alone doing it twice is hard. Last one to do that was Richie in 21/22. That’s 3 years without a player getting double figures.

I agree with you, but Moyes likes the ball in the air, with both Fellaini and Soucek key for his source of goals playing as 10s, or box to box players, Cahill too, over the years (and persisting currently with Doucoure as a poorer version of them). Didn't he also preside over Man U's highest number of crosses in a game, with no goals, against Fulham (at OT I think)? For which he was heavily criticised by the Man U community.
I realise we haven't got the most gifted players in the midfield, but I think Moyes is OK with by-passing it anyway.

Gotta be a decent young Brazilian or Argie striker who’s available for unstupid money.

We’d prob end up signing the regens of Jo or the Straq knowing our luck.
There are always good young strikers who are available for decent money it's just having the ability to spot them!

I don’t believe any of these links to him, a nice easy bit of clickbait.

Could be right. Sometimes 2+2 does equal 4 though. Benitez bringing in Rondon, Carlo signing Allen, Martinez bringing in a whole lot of crap from Wigan.
Moyes himself at Sunderland signing loads of his Everton players, as well as taking Fellaini to Man Utd.

I can see it happening tbh.
