If chelsea spurs RS and arsenal invest in key areas in their team in january, moyes has to go out and spend, its that simple.

you genuinly worried about liverpool? they'll have to buy 7/8 very good first teamers.
based on rodgers' previous buys i wouldn't worry about the quality he's looking at

i am tbh

think they're better than people give them credit for

They are, but they're also not as good as they think they are. I'm not worried about them yet, but if they add a few pieces I will be.
Fair enough assesment. Unfortunately two signings going well for them and i think they are back in the hunt. Competition for fourth is far too frail for them not to be considered. This window is horribly finely balanced.

This if they buy the two players they are most linked with then like it or not this is a good team:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Allen Sahin
Sterling Suarez Sturridge
Huntelaar

Jones Kelly Coates Henderson Downing Cole Borini

Its the cost of being in the top 4, constantly looking over our shoulder. Id prefer us chasing from slightly behind.
Id love us to have a gamble this window and bring in a few faces for competition or improving the first xi. 12/15m would be a just out of reach dream budget.

I don't think 12 mil is completely out of reach tbh

Think moyes will get a few faves from the loan market since he didnt do anyin the summer and my guess is that he still has some rodwell money left since nobody nknows how much. He could of gone for could be 17m or 12m

sad thing is we wont be able to maintain a top 4 challenge year on year til the board sell up and do one like others have said all it takes is the likes of arsenal, liverpool and even spurs to "get it right" in the transfer window to cement 4th spot and year on year they have the ability to spend without selling to do so in which we dont

I know we dont really want additional debt but i cant for the life of me understand why green/kenwright cant refinance our debts and take out an addiotional 10-15m pound loan to help us push for a champs league position. The new tv rights deal is going to see us getting minimum 20m pounds extra a season and doesnt even include the overseas right which i would imagine are going to go up astronomically. I think the increase for the overseas rights will be much bigger than the uk rights. Surely being able to qualify for CL will bring in at least 15m? Sell Heitinga for 4-5m too and we could get the addiotional winger, central player and strike partner which will consolidate our team

I admire your optimism. I do hope we do take a risk, as long as its a well managed one. It remains to be seen as to whether the people in charge are the people to so that. I guess we will know in 7 weeks. Untill then id like us to get as close to third as we can, increasing the likelihood of spending.
