Moyes-taken identity: Furious Man Utd fans send 'Moyesy' abuse on Twitter - but accidentally target young woman
Sarah Moyes was wrongly singled out by detractors of the Red Devils boss, before RVP and AVB weighed in with their own tales of woe
A Twitter user has told of the personal abuse she receives from angry Manchester United fans who confused her with David Moyes.
Despite also hailing from Scotland, Sarah Moyes, who has the username @Moyesy, has little in common with her namesake but has been hounded by furious fans demanding her resignation.
Other supporters believe she is the daughter of the under-fire boss, with one writing "stop sleeping with every Utd player you s***!"
Other messages ranged from supporters blasting her tactics to one saying "@moyesy take some responsibility!"
Sarah, who is in her 20s and works at a comedy club, said she doesn't want to change her username because it's her personal brand.
She vowed to ride out the criticism in the hope it will die down soon - something David will be thinking too.
Sarah told Offthewoodwork: “It’s only in the past 24 hours that it’s all got out of hand. It’s been a bit annoying before, but nothing like I’ve experienced today at all.
"There’s been lots of people saying i should just change my twitter name, but that’s my name on all sorts of social media sites and it’s been that way for years, so i don’t want to do that."
Things got even more surreal for Moyesy when users RVP and AVB weighed in with their own tales of woe.
Ashley Van Buren - who has previously been accused of being former Spurs boss Villas-Boas, is a New York-based script writer.
She chimed in with a word of comfort for Sarah after going through a similar ordeal when Spurs were struggling under their former Portuguese coach.
RVP, aka Ravi Visvesvara Prasad, who is a defence and security analyst in India, says for years he has been confused with United striker Robin van Persie.
He also offered his "sympathies" to Sarah when he tweeted: "Welcome to the mistaken identity club.
"You have had it really bad since man united lost to city. My sympathies."
Sarah sent a final message to her followers by adding: “Can i ask everyone to just leave me alone now?
“I think it’s been enough, and i think people should just let it go.
"I don’t mind the retweeting as much, but there’s a lot of comments that are completely uncalled for.”
Said it before but bringing Neville/Round/Lumsden with him instead of keeping the backroom staff in place was his biggest error
All managers bring in largely their own staff.
What did we win mate?
I don't think even he wants to be there anymore.
After Bayern destroys them he's axed.
He'll be Celtics manager next season, ITK in da know
He'll be lucky to get Celtic. Don't think anyone will touch him for a while.
All managers bring in largely their own staff.

That is very true.
But most new managers take over a club in crisis or in decline and a root and branch is required.
Very few new managers get to take over a team which is reigning champions.
And replacing United's back room staff with that shower we had borders on insanity.
But thank goodness Moyesie did so![]()
He'd walk into the celtic job and most mid table jobs. Failing at United won't stop the lesser clubs coming in. He won't get another shot at the big time though
He's done because his own staff will support him better which is probably more important when taking over someone like Utd. Given the results they've been getting if all the old staff were still there, they'd likely be trying to push him out already but instead Moyes has back room staff who are all on his side since they'll probably be out of a job too if he goes.
You also have to consider that many managers will feel their staff are also part of their success (even if they don't say it often), if they're being hired by a new club then that club will have believed in the whole set up. Right now it's looking like he made the wrong choice but it's not an unusual choice.
Bet Victor can't wait.A club like West Brom would be very pleased to have him.
