People are re-writting history with Fellaini.

He was an abslute beast, for the majority of his 5 years.

United away, they used Phil Jones as a man marker on him.....how many times has Fergie done that ??? You dont man-mark poor players!

He looks nowhere near the player he was for us now at United.

Just no battle in him or work rate. Don't think him and Carrick work well at all. Both slow and sit deep.

I remember countless games when he played as a DM for us as bossed it. People forget he only played further forward for 2 seasons with us (his first and last season) - the rest in that holding role.

Spot on.

This does not make him a bad player at all. Carrick looks [Poor language removed].

Its the system, and the obvious NONE support he is getting from thoise glorious fans they have.

You dont turn a bad player over-night.

Fellaini was a good player for us and tbh I wouldn't mind him coming back. Utd reporters and fans especially are so far up their own arses with their "he's not a Utd player" haven't a clue. Their team is full of mediocre players who are currently having a group sulk. Fellaini needs to stand up for himself and let them all know he's too good for them, they're dragging him down.......

They all look bad at the moment. Their defence is woeful. RVP and Mata look sub-standard too.

Its just a sorry state of affairs. But the Fellaini at United is not the Fellaini that was at Everton. You can see that in how he plays. And most of the media outlets only paid attention to him for 1 season rather than the 5 that we all watched and see him grow.

Stat attack here - 2011-2012
–Marouane Fellaini won more tackles, ground duels, aerial duels and made more passes than anyone else at the club.

–Marouane Fellaini was also second in the league with 84 tackles, and won the ball 190 times in midfield, by far the most in the top flight.

He is the Premier League’s best ball winner. He won possession 190 times in midfield, 26 times more than his nearest challenger (Alex Song, on 164). Only Fulham’s Moussa Dembele (with 86) won more tackles and none of this season’s top ten tacklers (in terms of quantity) could match Fellaini’s success rate of 85% - incidentally, just nine players attempted more tackles than his 99, and all of those nine players lost far more tackles than him.

As for United -
"This time last season, David Moyes' Everton had 48 points from 29 games, having scored 46 goals & conceded 35.

This season, David Moyes' Manchester United side have 48pts from 29 games, having scored 46 goals and conceded 34."

Why does Moyes pair Carrick with Fellaini? Can't he take one of his many attacking options off the wing (or bench) and pair them up with Felli in a 4-4-2? Is that too deep for Mata or Kagawa to play?

People have short memories indeed.

Fellaini was the only Everton player I've ever seen dominate a football match and make you forget there were 21 other players on the pitch. Injuries usually stopped him when he built up form, but during those spells he was a monster. Winning every ball, refusing to have it taken off him, using his height-disproportionate agility to maneuver himself out of tight positions. And then even throwing in the odd bit of crowd-pleasing skill (the Bellamy pirouette comes to mind) -- because what's football if not entertainment?

It makes me sad to see him now, as I know he's playing exactly how most neutral fans thought he played for us. What Fellaini really suffers from is a lack of a clearly defined role -- something common with players under Moyes, and well, after moving from a Moyes team to a Moyes team, and being bought as a teenager by Moyes and developed by Moyes... that's no surprise.

Are you sure Moyes isn't intentionally playing him out of position to develop him, teach him his role?

I've heard he's going in goal next. He would have done it sooner but Man United were seeking permission from FIFA after complaints that his afro might constitute "an unfair, ball-catching advantage".

That United side as a whole can't battle or fight in a game.

I've said it all season, Moyes hasn't even made United a hard to beat team. He's just failed miserably.

Felli did split opinion though and plenty criticised but he was a cult figure cos of the wigs and usefulness during hoofball.

Personally I thought his big problem was lack of pace quite often looking static and a bit slow witted none of which matters when the ball is being lumped.

That goal at Norwich this season when the lad just waltzed past him happened far too often for a quality DM/CM - not a bad player - but 12 million quid tops.

All about bottle for me and Moyes is bottling it in terms of leaving players out, he has been given a massive helping hand for tomorrow as Mata is cup tied and he can go with wide men in the wide positions with rooney in behind RVP but in the league games one of Rooney, RVP or Mata need to be dropped as they cant fit into the same team certainly against the better teams and Moyes hasnt got it in him to drop one of them, if he does Mata will be the one.

It would never ever have happened, but the best Moyes could have done would have been to go a season or so earlier and been coach under Imperial Dark Lord Ferguson as footy director

Part of Moyes problem is he's inherited a team off has beens and young never will bee's, the united fans are blaming Moyes yet forget Fergy had to bring Scholes back from Retirement to save there season.

Was Fergy really a great manager or did he get lucky? Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and the Neville's all game throught the youth system at the right time, yeah he brought some great players in cantona, Ronaldo and Ferdinand, but in the last 4-5 years he brought rubbish, Anderson, Nani, Cleverly, Jones, smalling. Don't get me wrong his record is amazing my point would he had won everything he did if them 5 had turned up when they did. Probably not.

Van Persie is top class and I'd say is there only world class player they have.

Rooney has never performed for England and isn't a patch on Bale, Ron or Messi, he never developed in to the player he could have been.

Mata - the greatest manger in recent times didn't want him and for a very good reason, he lazy, doesn't track back doesn't tackle, yes he can unlock a door but you get 0 defense duty of him. Not a team player. He's not a patch on Scholes

few weeks ago i got laughed at when i said they are protecting SAFs reputation...
...Moist would have been sacked already if he wouldnt have been chosen by SAF

I agree with that completely. Said it many times, crazy decision for a large corporation to let this happen in the first place.

also, surprised hes not tried fellaini behind the striker when they need a goal, i guess he would criticised for hoofball then..

And quite right too - that's the one thing he's managed to not do there. Yet.

I agree. Especially those who act like aristocrats who are complaining about their new butler. "Oh what is he doing here? That's not the crumpet knife, it's the muffin knife! You really ought to be orf down the road serving meals in the commoners' houses where they aren't so particular about their butlers, not here in a place of top class breeding! Go orn, be orf with you to Preston or Everton or wherever mid-placed hovel you belong!"

I don't blame them - spoilt they may be, but bringing someone whose never won anything nor had pressure to win anything, and whose playing style was making a team 'hard to beat' must be very difficult to take when you're used to the sort of football they used to play.
