Think Bowie's up there with The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis etc. in the sense that even if you don't like their music there's no denying their talent and influence.
Not into all he did, but some of his stuff was outstanding and I got it. But his influence was unquestionable, right across all genres. Terrible news, and we've lost another genuine music powerhouse. First Lemmy, now Bowie. Such a shame.
I can't say I knew the man, listened to any other record than Major Tom and the Mars one, and was introduced to him through his tremendous Crotch Stuffing in Labyrinth.
Stunned by this news and yet great that the Today Programme on Radio 4 have paid a massive tribute to him this morning, they very, very play music - a measure of the influence he had on music, art and culture in general.
