According to the Sun and BBC Sport

"Everton manager David Moyes is lining up Portsmouth striker David Nugent after Toffees forward Yakubu was ruled out for the rest of the season."

You'r views?

In my opinion I think he'll be a good signing, David Moyes will get the best out of him and he wont cost more than £2m.

Absolute dog [Poor language removed]! Even Wobley Head wanted rid after he paid £6mill for him.

What would we actually gained from getting him on loan that Anichebe, Baxter or Jukebox cant give?

But saying that though, get him in for squad numbers.

If it were a choice between the Nuge or nothing id go for the Nuge. I think Moyes could make him a better player, and if we could get him cheap we could sell him on for some sponds if we rose his profile a little and he did ok.

But Larsonn every time for me.

That rumour page also mentions Chelsea are interested in loaning Vagner Love from CSKA Moscow (dunno why with Kalou, Drogba, and Anelka).

If that's still a possibility we should definatley chase that up given how close we were in the summer.

Who knows....we could already have him hahaha

Big no from me, can't get a game in front of a past-it Kanu or half useless Utaka and has only played 30min all season...

He's not had anything near regular football since he left Preston a year & a half ago and has never proven himself as far as I'm concerned - 1 in 3 in the Championship isn't a mindblowing stat...

No idea of specific players (it's all just guesswork anyway really), but there's a hell of a lot of better options out there, even on our budget.

I think Redknapp wanted to get rid because Nugent didnt really want to go there in the first place. His heart wasnt in it. He was sounding out for months for Everton to come and get him and for one reason or another (money) we didnt. Maybe he can do it for us maybe he cant but if we can get him cheap he might be worth a chance.

I believed when he was at Preston, he could have done a good job for us. But now it is clear, he is not Prem class, couldn't hit a barn door from 1 metre.

We didnt want him cos we didnt want to spend the 6m on a useless 2nd rate striker, i wouldnt have him for free. :D

Exactly. We're tight fisted bas-tards so we know how to sniff a bargin. If I remember Nugent was banging on and on asking us to come and get him, but his club wanted more money and we wouldnt budge over £4mill.

Weren't Villa and Pompy trying to get him? Pompey being muggs they are threw in £6mill and got him. Never played a full game I dont think and Wobbly Head had to splash out on Defoe instead.

We need a striker.

I think his desire to play for the club may prove to be a decent buy.

It's obvious he has some sort of talent but he is defo out of his depth in the Premiership.

I'd have him, think he'd do a job for us. Weed need a striker, we have no money. He'd walk here to play for us. Get him in on loan.......

Bet he'd be better than AJ.

With Rangers & Celtic both being out of Europe now, they both have an over-abundance of striking options given the fewer matches they'll have over the rest of the season and they'll probably be looking to lighten their wage load due to the resultant lower income - a loan til summer would seem to suit both parties.

The likes of Boyd, Novo, Hesselink, McDonald or even Samaras could do a better job than Nugent.

Plus it's about time someone got McGeady into the Prem.
