I remember getting torn a new one by certain posters on here a couple years ago when I said his career has been plagued by injury and he won't give us more than half a season at best.

I'm not bitter like...

Darron Gravesen.

Seriously though, he's looking in great shape. I'm quite excited for his return...

....my thought when I saw the picture. Gibson is a good player and you can't have too many of them.

Yes, he's had his fair share of injuries, but how many of those were down to him not taking proper care of himself? He's not always been the slightest individual, has he? Wasn't he labelled as a poor trainer at United, too? Judging by the pictures that have come out of him in recent times, he's taking care of himself now.

So, regarding your prediction of "half a season at best", you could yet be wrong...

From January 2012 - May 2013 Gibson played in 41 games.... much more than 16 games (half a season) there guy. Plus I don't remember our record in that span when he was on the field but it was good.

Maybe, just maybe, he's realised how lucky he is to have a career in football after his long lay off.

Especially after seeing his team mates achieving the most successful premier league season in Everton's history.

I suspect he wants to be a part of that and will do all he can regarding his fitness to ensure he plays a leading role in any future success.

He is not overhyped as his record in a blue shirt shows.
As someone said earlier, he could be worth those extra points we need to end up in the top 4 and will be a very useful engine in the midfield for European games.

I for one am glad he is back.

Some people can be injury prone and grow out of it,i remember Gerard in the early days and Peter Reid was the same, don't know if they change something in their play or the body gets stronger just seems they get over their injury proness.

Lee Carsley had seasons plagued by injury.

Never saw this abuse of him.

This injury was on international duty.

Hardly his or the clubs fault.

Injury prone, but not a bad player, flick a ball over someone's head, you're a superstar.
Win us a league then they'll be superstars the lot of them.
