Wouldn't be Bob's style.

It's an option or a dimension we can change to if we need to, he played a five in midfield at times at Wigan, thinking of some games were it would have been handy, We're the scores got a bit ridiculous!

Wouldn't be my preferred option, but prefer that it is a option.

Strangely they flood their own though.
correct. A defensive tactic, Their attack though goes from Gerrard at the back right over the heads of the flooded midfield. They have great pace up front of course and in Suarez a play maker (and goal scorer) of unquestionable world class standard.
I think we dilly dally around in mid field way too long. We still need the creative player who can thread the ball into the paths of our striker(s).

Roberto Martinez says Gibson will join up with the main group very soon.

Darron Gibson is close to joining in full-training as he steps up his recovery from knee ligament damage according to Roberto Martinez.

The Blues boss says the Gibson's recovery is going well and that the Irish international is not far away from joining up with the main group.

He said: "Darron is working well and is going to join the group very soon. Then it's about seeing how he can adapt to the demands of working with the group.

"He is out on the grass, though he hasn't joined in with the group yet. That's not going to be too far away with how he is recovering. The one-to-one work is showing really well and I don't think he is going to be too far away from joining in with the group, which is a real success in itself."

Gibson suffered a serious knee injury when playing for his country against Kazakhstan in September and he had only made one appearance for the Blues this season.

The 26-year-old's recovery will be a boost to Everton who have seen Phil Jagielka, Ross Barkley and Steven Pienaar struck down with injury recently.

However, Martinez warned that it may take a little time for Gibson to get back to full-fitness, but didn't rule out a return to action this season.

He said: "Remember, when you are out for such a long time you need a bit of a building up period to get your fitness back but all the signs are very positive.

"He is well ahead of schedule and that always pleases me, to see a player get ahead of the timing because it shows all the hard work they put in behind the scenes when nobody is watching.

"The desire of Darron has been sensational in that respect and to have him around the place is a great sign.

"It will be great for him to be involved one way or another before the season ends, even though that would be an incredible and remarkable achievement since looking back on when the injury happened with the national team."
