Yes, but I choose to ignore it as I am in a state of denial.

Plus, if Rodwell did leave I'd rather see Barkley step up and fill the void than Gibson come in.

Agree about Barkley but if the club know they are going to be letting Rodwell go then he is a like for like replacment

Leaving us with Fellaini,Gibson,Barkley,Osman as our Center mids

And that's everything wrong with this club, rolled up in to one...we can't plan for the long or short term because we have one egg and no basket. Signing any player is a roll of the dice, I don't care if it's Messi...sh*t can just not work out for God only knows what reason.

Its all very well and good snapping him up now incase someone else does, but if we are spending a decent amount of whatever meagre budget we do have on him it could come back to haunt us if that player we need more urgently becomes available but we are £2million short.

I'm on the fence really on this guy, i think he's a bit **** and really wish we could get in a better standard of player but Moyes has pulled some crackers out of the hat before and Gibson must have soemething about him so could prove a shrewd move.

Or a complete waste of money.

All my Manchester mates tell me he is one of the worst players to ever wear a shirt for them!
Got a reallly hard shot, but more of a scud than an exocet.

Maybe if we had money this would be a good deal.

But it's the same as the average man buying a Ferrarri (even though Gibson's more of a Daewoo) for a cheap £80,000.

It's only a bargain if you can afford it.

No - it's only a bargain if you need it.

I hinted at that before...because of how we're ran as a club it ends up being illogical that we need a striker...but then sell Beckford and Yakubu, and cant take a gamble on Ba, all to cover debts...only to find out later in the season that you need a striker and cant afford one, so you spend what money you do have on someone who's available but doesnt add anything.

Its arse over tit.

Agree with Azurri.

Even if we sign Perbet for 1m, its still wasted money. I can't find any logic to this other than his age, which could mean its the last centre mid we plan to sign in the next five years.

He is just the wrong type of player we need. We honestly would do better signing Titus Bramble than Gibson, as we need a centre half. And Bramble is the worst Premier League footballer of all time, except Ali Dia.

Baffling.

Haha correct

How much moolah we giving him? 6 month contract?

And, if he truly is as bad as Manc fans say he is - is Moyes screwing the club (on purpose)?

Well Sir Alex brought Scholes out of retirement instead of playing Gibson, Think thats a sign we should keep clear.

I have no idea why we are trying to sign a CM though, it could be signal someones leaving..

Rubbish. Ferguson never wanted scholes to retire, and if he hadnt, he would have played the majority of utds games this season. Scholes said hhimself last week that he rang ferguson about coming back. This isnt an argument about who is better, because you are comparing one of the best midfielders to ever play in the premier league to someone who,s career has stalled. Everyone would pick scholes over gibson regardless of age. This is about wether a fringe player at utd who is available for 1-2m can add something to our threadbare squad.

Some really silly arguments on here. Same people who bang on about the state of our club complain when we try and do something to improve our squad. If it stops us signing a striker i,ll fume myself but i dont belidt

I say bring him in. He's got that "I'm gonna boss this.." look, although I do fear we are looking at the next Phil Neville.

Wish people would make they're minds up about him.

To the people saying "he's sh*te", can we really afford to be picky regardless?

The transfer equivalent of a cry fap really, some end result but really quite sad and painfully unfullfilling.
