Goodness me Yates is riding well. Another utterly dominant display and he deserves to win the race for sure.

I can't wait for the lavish praise to be heaped down on Yates from the press, followed by the next 8 years trying to hound him as a drugs cheat.
If he knows what's good for him a couple of miles from the end of the last stage he will stop, lie on the floor and spin the wheel of his bike.![]()
It's only a matter of time before he's labelled the convicted drug cheat.
Yates is the new Contador
yates must be heavy favourite now, still 56 sec lead after the tt
Barring a crash it's surely in the bag now, and given the way he's attacked on pretty much every uphill in the race, it's a thoroughly deserved lead too. It's hard to pinpoint where the improvement has come from. He's been there abouts in a few GTs but nothing to really suggest he can dominate one in the manner he has here.
Really is a cracking contest. The Queen stage tomorrow and you feel whoever triumphs there will win the race. It will be fascinating to see if Froome or Pozzo decide to have a long-range dig on the Finestre. It's that time of the race where riders will decide if they want to roll the dice or stick with their relatively minor placing. For the last few years the latter has tended to dominate, which may make sense for Pozzo, but less so for Froome (or to a lesser extent Pinot but I don't think he has the legs)
