Seixas was immense yesterday, 19yo - Hinault's prophecy has arrived. After me will come another, one more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.

Don't go to UAE, Paul.

Be interesting to see how yesterday affects him. Everyone knew pog would win but has will seixas rise to it now he knows what he needs? Or will it deflate him?

As impressive as he was it was still a fair beating. He beat him by a minute and put 30 secs in a km into him whilst sitting down and not even breathing heavy.

Anyway the season gets serious now. I think pog needs to shift a few kilos for the tour. Rumours that he's doing the vuelta

I'd be surprised if he did the Vuelta. If he gets another Lombardia, he not only has the record for wins outright in that monument but is also the first rider to get 4 monuments in a season. If he got another Worlds he'd also join the rank of those with most wins (3). 2027 is another hilly course so he'd be the favourite for a 4th win and the outright record. Against those, the Vuelta can wait. It is interesting just how little he's racing though. Whether that leaves him fresher or not, I don't know.
