It's a sick joke that the Russians are kept out of games when one of the biggest proponents of those bans, Britain, oversees a cesspit itself.
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw this drug scandal extend to sports like tennis and Rugby. The injection of cash into British sport for the lottery and major sponsorship deals was always going to give rise to corruption. I think if the Russian federation are banned it's only right that British squads should be too. At a minimum, British cycling teams - track and road - should be banned from international competition for the next two years. That'll give them time to clean up their act and the authorities bring in charges and convictions against the likes of Brailsford, Sutton, Wiggins, Froome etc.
Of course, the Dark Lord himself Seb Coe should be ousted from his position at the IAAF.
I think their punishment is this: no one buys the "achievements" of British cycling in the past few years as legal and above board now. Only the sycophants of the BBC commentary teams - who basically are cheerleaders for the nation, warts 'an' all - give the sport any sort of credibility. They're viewed by most as cheats, and all their gold medals (and TdF, Giro and Vuelta wins of Team Sky) are seen as the haul of drug abuse. In typical fashion mate, they will just point to this to this as some sort of justification.
"unethical but not against the rules"

Where did I mention that?Confirmation bias running wild with Dave I'm afraid. It's funny really as he applied quite justified scrutiny when a similarly dubious source made accusations against Corbyn being in cahoots with Russian/Czech spies, but because he dislikes Sky/British cycling already he waves through gigantic holes in these accusations as though they're nothing.
Collins was on the radio this morning talking about the TUE and how the drug was used for asthma (and lots of athletes have it etc.) when it wasn't being applied for for asthma at all, it was for an allergy. When he bungles such basic things and has such little evidence of anything at all, I'm not sure why he should have any credibility at all. His whole argument is that Sky set themselves up as being whiter than white, and they may not be so perfect. No rules have been broken at all. It's a shameful waste of public money.
Where did I mention that?
No.Fairly sure you posted in the thread Pete made about it, criticising the ridiculous allegation, the poor checking of facts by the media in their witch hunt, and the willingness of politicians to jump on board to kick the boot in. All of those things are true, but they shouldn't just be true for subjects you happen to like. You've come across here like Piers Morgan. I expected better.
Have you ever thought about buying a bicycle davek and going for a ride? I can recommend it, Excellent remedy for negativity - will put a smile on your face.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/43281807

Not sure Kimmage would be regarded as a respected journalist unfortunately. He's become very embittered by life since the Armstrong affair. He sadly gets used by the British press whenever they have a negative story on a British rider. You never see him commenting on racing or the situation at Astana (or whatever).
I do so on a regular basis mate. As well as putting a smile on your face it allows for clear thinking. Anyone who believes that shower of "rule stretchers" are kosher need their bumps feeling.Have you ever thought about buying a bicycle davek and going for a ride?
