Brilliant performance from Benoot. I wasn't expecting that. Van Aert equally impressive performance. Bardet is going to be very good in the Tireno. Stybar looked a bit off today.

A bit of a Terracotta army in the end:

Massive from WvA there - surely he'll move to the road after that showing. Loads to learn yet he's still making the podium. Proper hard ride from Benoot to take it - racing bare arms and hands all day.

Dno what he's going to do; one thing's for certain if he wants to improve on the road he seriously has to cut down the amount of CX races. Maybe drop the Superprestige (or another classification) or something. Can't see him changing right away because he has the WC jersey.

Third in Strade Bianche first go is just huge though - I mean that is Sagan-like potential. Don't see that he has a choice, he could be the Don of the Road.

I always thought they should just allow drugs. Level playing field, no need for any testing, they would cycle faster leaving more time for other things and the real interesting part is wondering whether they finish the stage before their hearts explode.

It doesn’t level the playing field though. EPO doesn’t have the same level of effect on everyone, it disproportionately favours people with certain body characteristics/blood types. Some riders will get huge benefit from it, others not so much.

Tbf there’s no explosive new information in that rapport.

They are just confirming what everybody already knew. Sky abuses the TUE system for performance enhancing purposes aka “marginal gains”. Isn’t illegal per se, you can’t get suspended for that. It’s just immensely hypocritical after you’ve gone and told everybody that you are the most ethically correct and clean team in the whole universe and everybody else is crap. Off course they are also the most transparent team. That transparent that they happen to lose all the medical records. Richest team most professional team in the peloton and they don’t do backups... Their credibility is in shatters. Won’t be long now.

Also The Guardian and almost every other British newspaper have a really strange way of cycling journalism. They don’t report actual races. Strade Bianchi, etc have passed. Not a word about the race. Unless a Brit happens to win/has a big chance of winning, a notable one falls etc... Quite a nationalistic mode of reporting that and tbh if you’re a fan of cycling quite unsatisfactory.

The BBC are the same. They follow the sport for the gossip, not the sport itself. Much like our esteemed friends in the posts before you, none of whom will have watched the race on Saturday, or probably have even heard of the race on Saturday. They'll also make no mention at all of the failed drug tests in football this season *shrug*

As it is, it's all old hearsay and innuendo. Apparently we're to believe that the most well organised team in the world tm are going to run a sophisticated doping programme by ordering stuff from an approved seller, with a paper trail, having it delivered to the headquarters of the the national sport, and then return the package. I can only presume they were stroking a cat whilst pulling off this devilish plan.
