Cycling thread

Got a ribble ordered last week. Love the customisation options (my dad told me which ones to get like, haha) and can't wait for it to arrive... in June :D

On the plus size, looks like it was a cable issue on the Jamis I've been using. Got it fixed and got out for 4 really decent rides last week. Last one put some climbing into it though and bloody hell it felt hard. With the weather being crap, I'm gonna get back on Zwift for a bit and hit some of their hill interval sessions. The sessions I did in Jan definitely worked in improving my power. Averaging 170w across the 4 rides last week.

Coming up to a year on zwift now and reckon it's time for a change - just have two route badges need ticking off. Might try fulgaz - the one with the high quality vids of various routes around the world. Reckon it will be love it or hate it - you can get a 14 day free trial.
RGT is pretty good as something different to Zwift. It was too quiet and limited (but better) routes that couldn't sustain my interest.

They change the free routes, but have Stelvio and Cap Fermentor on there - well worth a try.

Got tendonitis in my left knee from cycling. Was really enjoying a big ride every weekend but have to rest now. Gutted.

Maybe some rest and get it back in shape? Will stretching and strengthening (after inflammation goes away) help recovery? Beards ago I would get tendonitis if I lifted when I was running heavily, but have been fortunate it isn't recurring.

But I rode this weekend and I noticed... if you're not on the bike every weekend (about 7 weeks between rides), it can be a little painful on the undercarriage if you don't ease back into it.

I might try that - I messed around with fulgaz today and I'm not sure on it. It might be great but I couldn't adjust to the change to no avatar riding from zwift, it just felt like riding in front of the telly watching a nature program. Nowhere near given it a proper chance though so will try a few decent rides and see - the library of routes is quite impressive.

Any stretching/yoga techniques to help out?
A few mates have given me suggestions. It’s not even the knee I’ve dislocated twice and had all the issues with.

I think riding without cleats has not helped so I’m sorting that ASAP.

Have you been through this? It’s less sore today so will try some exercises tonight.

I cycled through the whole winter and a big ride every weekend so having done some reading it could be overuse, imbalance on the pedals, pushing too hard or all three.

I thought cycling would be a sport I wouldn’t get injured doing but i also think my knees are shot from many injuries over the years.
