there will be a few guys used to the weather who will be thinking they've got quite a few riders beaten before its even started
All gone a bit pear shaped for the race hasn't it? No coverage now for some time and it's descended into the One Show in Yorkshire. No idea what's gong on in the actual race.

They're going to lean on Belgium to pull this back I feel (and rightly so).
Didn't see that coming. Great ride. Another Dane in 6th as well. They've had an epic race.

A hard day on the bike there to put it mildly - everyone looked destroyed by the end, savage conditions. I guess you never 100% know if you'll have the legs for the sprint after 61/2 hours in the pouring rain - Pedersen did and Trentin didn't. Looked like Trentin made the jump and was then just empty. Awesome win for the Dane at 23 yo.
Learning experience for MvdP - failure is the best schoolmaster. A double leg puncture as Boardman said on the commentary, and Sagan referred to some people being too confident going up the road. He will be back.
State of some of those BBC interviews afterwards - I get that it's not always the easiest thing to do but Tao GH was nearly slurring his words he was that shattered, wrap it up man.

And still some people are moaning that the race missed 2 big climbs. It's almost as if they watched the race and thought "What that race was missing was that the riders weren't knackered enough by the end"
