Guess you can’t say too much.
No chance a bank closes someone’s accounts due to a personal vendetta.

Yes mate, as you say there’s not much I can say. I’m not familiar with the specifics of his exit, if I was I wouldn’t broadcast them and finally the nature of what I do means I can’t talk much about it publicly. As you say though, there’s no smoke without fire

I read it was Coutts, he must not have the minimum amount of equity you need anymore. It would make sense if it was that and he is just trying to make outrage from it
Publicly I can say the minimum you need is £1 Million. That’s out there in mainstream media, again I’m not underhandedly saying you’re right and it’s probably wrong if 7 other banks won’t onboard him

Apparently it's a campaign by cancel culture banks...

Brexiteers and gender-critical vicar have bank accounts pulled

Yorkshire Building Society customer's account was closed days after writing to the bank to complain about its messaging during Pride month

Urgent calls to change financial regulations are growing as more people find themselves the victim of banking “cancel culture”, due to their political and social beliefs.

Reverend Richard Fothergill, a customer of Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) for 17 years, had his account closed days after writing to the bank to complain about its public messaging during Pride month.

“I wrote to them on their feedback portal making two points: one was ‘is this really a good use of your time, you’re not here for social engineering’ and [secondly] said I have serious ethical problems with the transsexual element, and the implications of broadcasting that to young children”.

In a letter he received last week, he said he was told his relationship with YBS had “irrevocably broken down” and that the company holds a “zero tolerance approach to discrimination”.

“They didn’t justify it - they said ‘your comments will not stand’. I think its fairly sinister and we’re in very dangerous water when banks can pick and choose who they’re going to do business with based on prejudicial whims”.

A spokesman for YBS said the company never closes savings accounts based on different opinions or beliefs, adding an account was only ever closed if a customer is “rude, abusive, violent or discriminates in any way”.

Toby Young, General Secretary of the Free Speech Union, said the withdrawal of banking services from people for purely political reasons is “a new and sinister form of cancel culture”.

Earlier this week, Nigel Farage said he may be forced to leave Britain after his bank closed his accounts and others refused his custom.

The former UKIP leader said his personal and business accounts with a major retail bank have been closed because of a “commercial decision” and other high street firms have refused to allow him to transfer his funds to them.

Mr Farage told The Telegraph he may have been the victim of “blatant corporate prejudice” because of his campaigning for Brexit, or fallen foul of “politically exposed person” rules designed to lower banks’ exposure to bribery and money-laundering.

Could go in the woke thread, but it's got Toby Young gobbing off and Farage,so here is good.

Note: it isn't the full article, edited for brevity.

I did see that, the thing people forget is banks offer a service. There are terms and conditions and while what the vicar did probably isn’t against the terms and conditions of his accounts they offer a service and they’re entitled to refuse that service to whomever they choose. Having a bank account isn’t a human right.

Imagine I owned a burger restaurant and stuck up a few anti-racism posters. If someone came in and started complaining that I sold burgers imbued with values that deeply troubled them I'd tell them to gtfo too. Go buy a whopper burger from the KKK-sizzler diner down the road.

Farage is comedy gold though. Pissing myself at that. Either he's legit done something dodgy or he's making a mountain out of a mole hill for attention.

The other thing to add is that they're crying because their attempt to shut down freedom of expression and debate got shut down. Which is pretty insidious in and of itself.

Which is my biggest gripe with most of these turds. They aren't actually interested in a plurality of views or debate, they cry censorship because they are being prevented from doing the very same thing they object to. Alternatively it is a crude way of trying to shut people down. "I've been no platformed" stated via a massive platform usually lol.
