Totally agree. The strange part was that the same venue had done his two shows at the fringe for the last 5 years or something. On the other hand, good on them for listening to a temporary member of staff and taking action.

Yeah, am sure venues are more worried now about backlashes and the like. Think the P word use for a member of staff to have to hear, is probably understandable.

Another comedian could do that joke (the opener), but just describe it.

“My girlfriend was in bed this morning and I walked in butt naked, stuck a red nose on my coc…. Etc etc Comic Relief punchline”. But Sadowitz will always go further.

I'm not arguing he's been cancelled. I also didn't see the show, I just know some people who did.

I think most people paying money to see him are well aware of what they're getting into and the place his humour comes from (the butt of the joke is always himself). It's a tough sell to explain that, however, to a young asian guy who's come to work on a bar and heard racist language for 5 minutes straight. I can see both sides of this.

It's a different view as well to say "well the audience didn't mind" but they aren't the only ones watching/hearing/seeing.

Feel quite bad for Lara Logan. The stuff she went through in Egypt by all accounts was quite horrifying and traumatic. Not sure how one bounces back from that--it's gonna change you, but one way to NOT productively bounce back from that experience is to take a deep-dive into far right-wing conspiracy nonsense to the point were NewsMax (an already hyper-right-wing nonsense peddler) has banned her. [though obviously, their statement about banning her has more to do with them being sued for a billion dollars--"see, your Honor, we are being responsible"--than actually caring about what misinformation they push.]
