No but if we're getting one a competent one would be nice. as I said earlier Zabaleta would've done the job for a season

But would be on massive wages and at this stage in his career wants first team footy.

Martina is fine for what he is. Added competition for the youngsters on an easy-to-do deal and cheap wages (relatively speaking ofc)

It'd be madness to head into the season with Kenny and Holgate as our only fit right backs.

Not only do I rate Kenny in particular but there are also several midfielders who could also fill in there - haven't Besic, McCarthy, Davies have all played there at times? Obviously not necessarily up to Seamus at his best but tbh think this is a postion pretty low down the priority list to fill assuming Coleman will be back at some point next season.

Im just hoping we can nip in ahead of Man U for his signature, would be quite the coup. Doubt he will chose us though, we just dont offer enough.

this. Think between Kenny and davies/besic we have cover till Seamus gets back. McCarthy I expect to go

But it's putting square pegs in round holes.

McCarthy played as a wing back vs Spurs and did well, but against WBA wasn't great and had to be taken off early on when we switched systems.

Besic played there once - vs United in the FA Cup semi final - and was poor.

Davies, again, has only played there twice.

We should be looking at well over a 50 game season. We need proper cover/competition.

Kenny and Holgate may well be 'first' choice, but Martina would at least add some experience and competition until Seamus gets back.

But it isn't a full season as I'm expecting Seamus to be back at some point.

Just feel that Kenny, Holgate and Browning plus the midfielders is enough cover for that especially compared to our striker, winger and CB positions or even at left back where we have far less depth. Sure if we have enough foreign player slots available at the end of the summer and our wage budget isn't maxed out we could bring him in but just think it unnecessary at this point.
